I once saw a National Geographic special about Botswana and they were talking about an old Zulu tradition that had regained popularity of a hymen check. Teenage unmarried girl got their hymens checked out by the village crone and if their hymen was intact there was rejoicing and the girl was given gifts. If the hymen was broken the crone drew a "?" on her thigh and she was shamed. I was so impressed by that tradition ended up writing a light rock song, ala Hootie and the Blowfish, about that called "? On My Thigh" for my band.
[rquoter]...pay $18.40 for two fake hymens nicely packed in a wooden box. For $14.40, the same products come simply wrapped in a paper box...[/rquoter] Guys, I really could have used this information before shopping for Valentine's was over. Had to shell out for a d---ed pendant necklace instead.
