Yeah, I lost my keys the other day, my GF was driving me to the supermarket and I think i left my keys there. No one has found them at the lost and found, I don't mind so much about losing them as I have replacements but I'm wondering if there is anyway for someone to find my keys, find out where I live and break in? I have cards attached to my keys like Randalls, CVS, petsmart, I asked the lady at randalls if there was a way for someone to track me down by having a person scan the card at a register and she said there was no way they could get my address like that bc they don't have all that information. Still, i'm a little concerned about it, should i change my lock?

I would say it is possible but I doubt someone would be able to find you if they were so inclined, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

man dont worry about it, this aint 2050 where all your information is tethered to metal objects and plastic discount tegs from a cvs.

You will be okay if youre really worried buy a second set of dead bolts!

Should be pretty cheap to get your locks re-keyed.

It's HIGHLY unlikely someone could find out where you live....I'm talking like 99.99% chance that they won't. But, if you really are worried about it, just change your locks for the peace of mind. It's really not all that expensive.

Yes, it is possible. Once while I was walking my dog, I came across a set of keys on the floor on the street. It had a GNC membership tag attached to it. I called the GNC and gave them the ID number saying I found a lost set of keys. Then GNC gave me the name and number of the person who it belonged to.

If someone mischievous had found it, they could have cross referenced the name and number to find the person's address using widely available search tools on the internet.

VW keys are around 100-150 bucks I think. They are very expensive.

Depends on the person who find the keys, With your name they could figure out if they do a good research, but it would take some time to get your address.

If its bothering you, you can change the locks.

It's easy. They will go to CVS, Randalls, etc. and use your card when they are checking out. Then all they have to do is ask the cashier to "confirm" their home address. Then the cashier will spit it out, OR, the cashier will give you home number as a "confirmation." Home numbers can be easily traced back. Since the person did not return your keys, they obviously have some other motive, I mean, what are you going to do with a set of keys besides using them? I highly recommend you change out all your locks.
