We all wanted the Rox to continue the streak, but the bright side is that we are in a better position in the long run. First we didn't drop in the standings, because everyone behind us has lost. Second, I don't believe the Rox would have made these trades if we would have continued winning. So in the long run the past 2 games may have been the best thing for the Rox
Now if only we could choke our way out of a playoff spot altogether, we could be force to make some REALLY great moves in the offseason.
I agree, the timing really worked out. Imagine if Sura's back went out after the trade deadline, maybe there wouldn't have been that sense of urgency to deal for a PG if he didn't hurt his back. The MoT deal would have happened anyway and my hope is that VB can motivate himself for 30 games and really bring it, that would be the icing on the cake for that trade. Now if James is everything they say he is, Sura's back injury before the trade deadline was a blessing. Someone upstairs is watching the Rockets, maybe we will win it all this year.
Interesting point, ced. I didn't think about it like that. Sura has been great for the Rockets, but him getting injured might stand to be one of the best things to happen to the Rockets all season.
May be we should lose all the games for the remaining of the season so the management would pry Duncan away from the Spurs.
Getting hammerd by the Spurs with/out Sura is a step back. the 18 point margin flatterd us in the end. The Sonics however i agree with you.
That 18pt deficit was a little misleading though...we played 'em tough through three quarters and we were in control for most of the game...but tired legs and a lack of pg brought our downfall...w/ sura there...game would have been much closer and downright winnable. But the two game losing streak is prob the best losing streak any team could have...didnt affect us in the standings and was the catalyst for tweakin our backcourt for the better.
We played two of the best teams in the leage tight without our point guard. And of course, like you said, that was probably the catalyst for the Mike James trade. It's hard to be down, really. Things still look very bright.
