There are times when after an intense workout for 1.5 - 2 hrs I completely lose my appetite for my next meal. I know it's imperative that I eat something within an hr or so after a workout.... Anyone have any advice? Should I just force food down?? (I would rather not do this, since it makes me gag)
Mmm. Not imperative. Nice but not imperative to do. I'll second the protein shake suggestion. One way to get some nutrition down without feeling like your force eating. Although a word of caution, some protein shakes can make you nauseous as well. So you don't really win, but let us know
That's it,were not getting him so might as well move on and take that melo picture of the clutchfans home screen.
There are times after an intense meal that I just can't seem to workout, so I am assuming you are fine.
I eat my last meal about an hour before I work out. After my workout I smoke a bowl and hit the sack. Then I go to bed.
Same deal here at times - drink plenty of fluids and then ease yourself into eating. Start with foods that go down easy like fruits, cereal, pasta, rice etc.
I feel that when I finish off with a long run. But, after two or three hours my appetite returns to normal and I can eat. Though, I usually make a conscious effort to eat less than normal after a workout. In regards to your problem, you don't fell hungry even after a few hours? If it really worries you, best-worst answer....see a doctor. Nobody likes going to the doc. , but probably the best bet for an answer. I was going to throw out a few potential conditions, but I'm not a doctor and don't want to worry you over my uneducated guesses.
after a few hours by appetite comes back. I want to gain mass, though... and I need to be eating immediately after a workout for the best results (so I'm told)
i think it's one of two things: 1. You ate too much before your workout, too close to it, or both. 2. The exercises you're doing are probably shifting your body alignment some, usually a good thing as exercise can straighten you up, pun intended....this means your digestive system is getting shifted some as well and probably needs time ot settle back down. Actually there may be a third. If you worked out so much that you want to puke,t hen obviously you won't be hungry after, but i can't see that being the case work out after work out and it's usually after something extremely intense for you.
