Anyone ever been? They're a chain of islands belonging to Portugal and they're only a 4-hour flight from Boston. <iframe src="https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d12911693.49872672!2d-25.494351899999998!3d37.80716960000001!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0xb467f1e11e43b05%3A0xe2911b674bce0c1d!2sAzores%2C+Portugal!5e0!3m2!1sen!2sus!4v1415851557975" width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" style="border:0"></iframe>
s land balla, love your travel plans. I have not been, but from what I hear from friends, the Azores are amazing. Very mild climate, very peaceful. Hope you will have a great time. They are on my list, too.
Just spontaneously booked a flight there last night for this weekend. The fare was only $300 roundtrip from Boston (where I am) and is nonstop both ways.
Just got back. I've been to a lot of places around the world, but I probably wouldn't ever go back to the Azores. At least not during rainy season. Aside from the constant rain, it was quite beautiful. I oftentimes find that extremely remote islands are not quite as awe inspiring as you may think.
Seriously? I love finding deals like that! Will keep it in mind for a trip in February. The weather may not be great that time of year, though. Edit: too cold that time of year.
Maybe that's why the tix were cheap, considering the weather. What's the cost for activities in these small islands? and what currency do they accept?
