Will be going in February for about 9 days. Will be flying into and out of Cartagena on the northern coast. Me and a few buddies decided to book flights just because they were ridiculously cheap on Spirit Air (from Chicago), plus Colombia seems like an awesome place to visit, and the weather in February in Colombia is >>>> than the weather in February in Chicago. Since we only have 9 days, we're planning on sticking to the northern coast of the country. Any recommendations?
Tell the Carazi Cartel you know me...youll get a frequent buyers program. I am in the import/export business. Need anything shipped? Ill tell the gov its a pile of textbooks going out to wherever you need it to go. I have contacts at DHS and in the ship channel. Its safe.
Never heard of anyone traveling to Colombia for vacation. Safety has improved but the government still issues travel warnings for Colombia. http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_941.html
Be careful. My office is working on a major project in Cartagena, and we've had a lot of people go down there. Most people don't have any issues, but we did have one kidnapping. The northern coast is much safer than the interior, and the whole country is now safer than places like Venezuela, but it's not really safe.
