looks like Jason is putting in some solid play over the last week or week and a half.

What are some of your thoughts on him and what he can contribute to this team for the remainder of this year and into next?

I think he needs to perfect the ball bouncing off his head technique. He's already pretty good at it. Dude is such a comedian! It bounces off his head and then looks frantically around, pretending he doesn't know where it is! Oh, Jason, you goofball!

In all seriousness, he hasn't looked THAT bad. He's just such a stiff athletically, I think it's hard sometimes for Stevie and Mobes and Moochie to realize he can't finish some of the plays that they think they give to him on a platter. Prime examples being in the Clipper game when he blew the layup on the fast break cause he was so far out, or last night when he was "streaking" down the paint and he got the ball just inside the top of the key, and blew the little finger roll.

He needs to be put in a position where he can either just receive a pass when he's 18 feet out and shoot the jumper, or be close enough to the hoop where he can finish without having to "move" too much. A couple times last night he looked good using the rim to shield off defenders and finishing plays off a stevie or moochie drive.

Jury's still out to be sure. We all know he's never going to be a starter in this league, but the question the Rocks need to find out is if he truly can serve a role with these guys. I'm not sold, yet, but we'll never know unless he continues to get some consistent minutes.

I don't get to see many Rocket games, so I have a question or two:

Is Collier running the floor better than other big men and so getting the ball in unaccustomed situations?

    OR

Is he another case of bad hands/big feet?

Is he being given tries that he shouldn't be being given? Are the point guards making bad distribution decisions?

collier can be effective in the "handing out of the gatorade" department, as well as the "throwing towels to the players who are actually good" role. I think that, with practice, he can EXCEL at both roles....

If we pick up another center in the off-season, via draft or free agency, etc., should we cut Collier if we can resign Willis? Or just let Willis go?

Well...since Big C is a whole 10 inches, 100 pounds taller than me and it's possible he reads this board.........the dude's got a lot of potential. Boy can he run that court! I love seeing him gracefully swoop down to finish fast-break passes from Steve and Cat. Ahhh...you know, JC is also Jesus Christ's initials. Ooooooh!

Off topic--I was kind of disappointed to see in SLAM under "Noyz" a little jab at our two stars...

"....Love is love, but Steve and Cat, y'all are scaring us...."

Truth be told, chances are pretty good that if Collier and Langhi were to get a sudden increase in minutes a la T-Mo, they've have similiar production.

Neither of them have ever really gotten a chance to show their stuff, and both of them have shown some measure of ability when given a chance. Of course they make a lot of mistakes, but what do you expect if they don't get any playing time.

It's also possible that they're getting time so that their trade value will go up, but in any case, it's nice to see Collier on the floor at least. I don't think he's sucking it up as much as some would like to believe.

    :)
