without nash, he's been subpar. 5-21 FG tonight plus 8 TO 1 min before end of 4th quarter. They are going to win tho...

captain obvious? Some people happen to think amare would still play all-star level without nash.

why do you think the knicks had so many open 3s? the bulls were packing the paint. amare forced a lot of shots too.

before this game, he was averaging 21 points.

    the guy will be fine.

21 points far below his FG average. You know STATS not gonna have the same "stats" as he did in phoenix.

He is killing my fantasy team with these massive amounts of TOs.

His ppg are not down a whole lot but his fg% was 46% coming into this game.

how's steve nash doing? assists aren't as easy are they.

both will be fine once they adjust. amare's problem right now is teams are doubling him hard and he's forcing the issue: TOs is an example. once he calms down, he'll be fine.

he's the main guy now. and the knicks only shot 29% on 3s before coming into the bulls' game. that will only force teams to pack the paint and force them o jack up 3s. they were fortunae to hit everything tonight.

amare is a star, and i'm sure he'll figure out how to beat the double teams.

exactly. he'll have a good season. i'm not understanding why people on this board like to discredit amare for any of his success. nash and amare helped each other out

His numbers from the last 4 years in Phoenix (all pretty consistent):
    22.6 ppg (56.8%), 9.0 rpg, 1.3 apg, 2.6 tpg, 3.5 fpg

Small sample size, but first 4 games as a Knick:
    19.5 ppg (39.4%), 7.8 rpg, 3.0 apg, 6.3 tpg (!), 4.8 fpg

So, at least his assists have creeped up. His A/T ratio hasn't changed at all - still 0.5. Not awful for a PF.

He's definitely going to have a tough time in the short term dealing with the burden that comes with being the only star player on a bad team.

Many players have declining stats after 35, even ones not named Nash. Nash is almost 37 yrs old. Stoudmire is 27 yrs old. His stats should not be declining, 9 years before Nash and other old players.

His %s won't hit the 50+% like it was in Phoenix. I'll bet on it.

Amare will get his 22-25ppg because of all the shots he jacked up and being the knicks' center offense. But without Nash to set up him for easy shots, Amare FG% will suffer.
Stop bring up the Nash without Amare assist suffered statement. How old is Nash now? and look at his teammates. Even John Stockton and Mark Jackson will have hard time to register an assist if your teammates couldn't make a shot.

it definitely wont be as easy for him, but he'll still be an all-star talent...i think his monster games will be severely cut back though

Umm, Nash is doing just fine. Amare? Not so much. Definitly a decrease in efficiency in his performance as opposed to last year.
