Well, I can safely say that we aren't going to win the championship this year. So here's the big quesiton.

What position do we need to address most through the draft?

    I think it'd be nice to have a small forward who's like a 3/4.

    We have Cato as a 5/4. We have JJ as a 3/2. I'd like a 3/4 type.

C'mon, everyone knows we need a point guard...Steve needs to be moved to the 2 or get shipped out of here...I'm not sure SF and Yao can survive together...

Clearly a powerforward. Secondly, a taller 3 would be nice and move JJ to 2.

I doubt it matters, since you're asking about the draft. All we've got is a second rounder, so we aren't likely to address any of our needs with the draft. Best available player.

Our draft this year would not make any difference, we need some change this summer to retool some of our postions (a backup PG, a starting PF or SF and bench)

Point Guard...and it's not close. It doesn't matter how much talent you have. It's difficult to win without a point guard to distribute and take care of the ball.

    A strong rebounding power forward.

We can address two positions at once in the offseason by trading Francis for a Power Forward.

If we're lucky, we won't need to worry about drafting someone. If we make the playoffs, we lose our first rounder.

I wish Hedo Turkoglu were an unrestricted free agent. We could use him at the 3.

Tough call, but the only way we improve the other spots is to trade out players not named Yao. I suspect JVG will aim for Marcus Camby with the MLE if he can move Mo or Cato. We need a decent PG (Arroyo?) and more rebounding.

Hell, I wouldn't mind getting Caron Butler, if he's healthy, but I don't see how.

Anyway, what The Real Shady said? Ditto. A strong rebounder.

You mean Oak? if not....I don't get it.

Oak is gone, we released him.

What we need to most is a PF....a true PF.

Without a first-rounder, we might as well forget about addressing any problems with the draft. So for the offseason:

We need a real PF, no more one-dimensional PFs, a guy that can rebound, defend, and relieve some of the offensive tension Yao gets downlow. Guys like: Sheed, Boozer, Okur.

We also need a taller SF, JJ has been great but in the West, we need size. Guys like: R. Lewis and Marion would be perfect, but Marion is probably untouchable.

We need either a good backup PG or a big PG and maybe slide Stevie to SG. Guys like: Barry, Barry, Barry. The guy is a FA, and CD should make a serious, serious run at him. Can shoot the lights out, is a smart player, and defends well.

All depends on what we do with Francis...
If we try to trade him, it will likely be for a PF or a 1st rounder...to get a PF(in Okafor)!
If we decide to keep him then 2 scenarios are possible:
1.either we keep Francis at the point and there again a PF will be our primary target
2.Francis is moved to the 2 and we look for a complementary player at the point.

How quickly we forget. I was referring to our draft prodigy in Germany, Malick Badiene.
