I'm transferring into UT for the Spring semester and am going to need an apartment. I really prefer something in West Campus within walking distance to the UT campus. I've been cruising craigslist and have called all the major apartment complexes, but availability is scarce as would be expected for the middle of the school year.

If anybody knows of anything or anybody in Austin that might be able to point me in the right direction please let me know.

    Any help is appreciated!

I have some friends who live in West Campus, and don't mind asking around... but I would need more details (price, bedrooms, etc.)

That'd be great! I'm really looking for a 1 bedroom space, but if the person I'd have to live with is cool I'd be open to something else. In terms of price the max I can spend /mo is 1400 including parking.

That is a very high budget. You shouldn't have trouble finding a place on craigslist. I'll ask around, but you should just post a wanted ad online...

you have the budget for a high rise. You could probably live out of a hotel.

well, for west campus and a nice place that's about what I'm going to have to spend, especially in one of the larger apartment homes. And the higher budget also accounts for the fact that I'm looking for a 1 BR apartment, which are usually more expensive.

I am not familiar with the area of Austin so I am sure it is like living in Downtown Houston.
