I'm finally putting that POS VW jetta to rest. Suggestions? Here are the requirements 20-30K with leather Easily handle 2 adults, a big ass car seat and two dogs Decent gas mileage (Our other car is an Expedition) reliable My wife and I are looking at the CX-9 Camry Mazda 3 because its good looking, cheap and gets great gas mileage uses regular unleaded gasoline I'm leaning towards japanese even though the expedition has been the most reliable car I have ever owned.
I drive a Lexus, but recently I had to rent a Toyota Camry when I was away for some business. The Camry really impressed me from everything from the looks, entertainment console, stability, ride, to the interior. I only wished it had a bit more pickup to it, but that may have been b/c I rented a lower engine model. The only thing that kind of irritated me was the model I drove didn't have an auxiliary jack for hooking my Ipod into.
We were thinking of a Lexus or an Infinity but I can't bring myself to pay over 30K for a car. Especially since we don't particularly baby them.
Camry SE V6 would be my sedan of choice under $30k. pity the asian/europe models look much classier. i guess we'll get that "face lift" in another year or two.
but isn't Maxima significantly more expensive than the Camry or Accord? he did say he wants to stay under $30K.
I believe there is a big incentive going on Maximas like 2-5K, so it's possible to negotiate under 30K drive out.
the mazda 3 is a great little car and probably the most bang for your buck. of course, you cant go wrong with a camry either
Jag X-Type How's that for an obscure suggestion? I am kinda kidding, although I own one. It's a nice ride, all wheel drive, plenty of room, Italian leather, great sound system, sunroof, wood trim, 3.0 liter V6 with some nice power, and it's been a great car. If you buy a certified used Jag, they come with a 6 year, 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty too. Anyway, based on YOUR requirements, the Camry is a nice choice. But take a look at the 2008 Accords too. Body style has changed for the better IMO.
I'm looking to buy a new car as well - the one and only option that came to mind was Honda. I'm having trouble choosing between a civic si or an accord.
I want each for different reasons. Which is what I'm struggling with - I know what I want and need now. But will I still want what I want now in 10 years? And of the things I need, what do I need the most? I hate wants and needs!
It is all wants for 90+% of the things you think you need. You don't need a car to live, you can take bus, ride bike, walk, etc. It is just very inconvient. People in other parts of the world open take up to two to three hours of public transportation to go to work.
