I am looking to buy a lawnmower for my parents as a housewarming gift. Any suggestions on what's good? I don't want to spend too much, but at the same time, I don't want to buy a piece of junk either. What is a good, reasonably-priced lawnmower to buy?
I have Honda Harmony 215. I've had it for about 10 years and it still works great. I think the clutch went out once but it wasn't a big deal. I think it cost $20 to have it fixed. It cost around $400. It's a bit pricey but I think it was well worth it. What ever you get make sure it's a mulching mower. No grass clippings to bag and it's good for the lawn.
Agreed...mulching Honda. (How cool...a Honda ad! That's the first thread ad that I have seen that was useful...)
A word of advice (speaking from experience).... don't skimp on the lawnmover. Get self-propelled with AT LEAST 7 hp.
Dude, when Swoly-D posted posted in the DaDakota/Gizmondo/Ferrai/Mafia thread (i think it was that one) he said something like "my lawnmower sounds better than that(ferrari enzo)." I had the best reply, but I didn't post it. I was going to quote reply, and post, NO FREAKING WAY. Swoly-D is my VATO, so i HAVE To GiVe hiM some.
I just bought one 6 months ago after a month of research I went to hoe depot and got a toro for 299. I think the model is 20016 . Great mower.
I dont think you can go wrong with Hondas, but if you can find a good commercial Toro for a good price I'd take it over a Honda..
Thanks to everyone for your help. I ended up buying this bad boy because I got a sweet deal on it. http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=LAWN&pid=07137657000
