Depends on what you're hungry for. If I were downtown, I'd go to Doozo's for dumplings or Zero's for sandwiches, or Treebeards for cajun.

Treebeards is a favorite of mine, but the portions are kinda small. (i skipped breakfast.)

    Where is Doozos and Zeros?

We decided to go to El Tempo on Washington, kinda far but worth it.

Keep this discussion going, I can use Ideas fro next time.

I don't consider El Tiempo a lunch spot. Too expensive, IMO. For lunch, I try to stay around $4-6 bucks.

Doozo's is in The Park Mall on Mckinney and San Jacinto. Zero's has three locations. The nearest being Fannin and Mckinney (roughly).

No way. Breakfast is like $4.25. Tea's a buck. Tip and tax is like 2 bucks. Under 8.

    Torta's about 3-4 bucks. Tea's a buck. Tip and tax ~2 bucks. 7ish.

3 tacos would be like 3.75. Tea's a buck. Tip and tax ~2 bucks. Still close to 7.

You can't get 2 meals for 11 bucks.

First off, screw the tea. Get water.

A torta at a taqueria will run around $2.50. But you have to tip, so I'll leave that out.

For me: JCI has .82 cent dogs on friday.
    JITB Western Cheeseburger .99
    JITB Two Tacos .99
    JITB Burger deluxe .99

    KFC-Snacker .99

    Wendy's Baked potato .99
    Wendy's chili .99
    Wendy's 1/4 pound cheeseburger .99
    Wendy's bacon cheeseburger .99

    McDonald's 2 Big Macs 2.42
    Mcdonald's double cheeseburger .99

    BK Whopper jr. .99
    BK double cheeseburger .99

I can eat every day for $2.14-$2.61

=$11 a week. (I've never eaten this way for an entire week, mind you, but it could be done.

I think Gummi was implying that there were people other than himself going (he may or may not... "We decided...". Anyways, if I was going to have a business lunch with friends/coworkers, it definitely wouldn't be at a fast food joint anyways.

Actually since we are on the topic of food, my friends and I usually have our favorites (Chuys, Freebirds, Treebeards) and I was wondering if you guys had any other neat places that we could try.

Sorry to get off topic, but since his lunch hour has already passed I figure it's alright.

I work downtown and our usuals are (all driving of course b/c we're lazy like that):

    Freebirds (for them Aggies)
    Texadelphia (for us Longhorns)
    BW3
Jax Grill (good for big groups)

    Others are:
    Pei Wei (blah)
    Niko Niko's (get there early)
    Mission Burrito
    Miyako's
    Goode Company Taqueria
    Barnaby's
Lankford Groceries (not good for big groups)
    Katz's (service is SLOW)

And thus FFB shows no quarter (pounder) in regards to good food OR good music. Why am I not surprised? Oh yeah, I picked this post to respond to by "random".

Good lord, Win. Nobody knows what the hell you are even talking about. Quit with your melodramatics, already. #1. Yes I picked your post at random. That's why I left your moniker off. #2. I ignored your first non-sensical post. Leave it be. Such crybabies on this board recently!

It's too late, but next time try Irma's (not Irma's Southwest). I think it's on Chenevert. Excellent food and you MUST try the 'lemonade' which is more like fruit water than lemonade. Also the original Ninfa's on Navigation kicks butt, it's MUCH better than the other chain Ninfa's.

That's cuz it's the only Ninfa's still owned by the Laurenzo family.

If you are going to an Astros game at MMP, eat dinner and have margies at Ninfas on Navigation about an hour before the game. They run a shuttle to and from MMP and drop you off/pick you up right outside the outfield gate.

I agree 100%...I think the Irma's SW closed down, but I'm not sure...A little expensive, but worth it...original Ninfa's rocks...
