Dang if the season was to end right now. 60% of the teams in the lotto would be teams in the east. Even if we wanted to tank for a top 5 selection that would be hard to do.
I think we'll fair better than the eighth seed. I see us around the fifth or sixth. We're just in a mini-slump at the moment.

All the teams that miss the playoffs go into the lottery, and there are the same number of teams in both the WC & EC. I think what you are getting at is that your record/rank determines your odds of winning the lottery, and if you are the 11-14th worst team your odds are slim. Still though, you have a chance and your now talking about a a pick a good 4 to 6 spots better than you would get being the 8th seed and losing to the Lakers in the 1st round.
Exactly what experience do the Thunder have that the Grizzlies don't? I think the Grizzlies are the team below the Rockets most likely to move up.
