Yeah, I believe, too. I believe the Disastros will give their tortured fans false hopes, then blow it again, like they do every year. I've stopped following them. They just don't got it. And, don't worry, I'm not fairweather on this. I won't be cheering them on if they were to good later this season because I know they won't succeed very far.

They can blow it every year for all I care. But they're still my team and I will still root for them no matter what, and every year I will always have hope. That's called being a fan I believe.

I admit -- I gave up on the season as the 'stros were falling in a 15-hole. I am impressed with their rebirth. And hopeful. But dubious. Keep on proving me wrong, Scraps.

    Sounds just like me!

I was going chooo chooo when we scored our 1 run during our funk.

I'm always a fan, I will always follow the team (as long as their in Houston).

I'm a huge homer for Houston.

Exactly what I was thinking ...

I think he should actually practice not following the "Disastros" and skipping this forum if he wants to prove he is not a bandwagoner :)

Well there were no worthwhile threads that I hadn't already replied to in the Hangout at the time. I liked the Astros all my life. Then, last year I really kept up with them and cheered 'em. Then, they go up 3-2 on STL and then even manage to lose game 7 with The Rocket (!!) pitching, falling short with no major brass to show for, again.

Look at the teams from 97-99 - so much talent and good records, and then only to fall short. The Astros never accomplish anything really worthwhile. They always get their fans psyched up, and then they blow it. So, I stopped caring about them after their latest collapse last season.

Least Houston has the Rockets and soon to be great Texans.:)

Eh, I give it two more seasons of not winning the Super Bowl before you're whining about them, too. Do us all a favor. Go away.

wow...see..all that, "i'm not just a fairweather fan" stuff would have worked a lot better had you not just told that story.

My friends and family laughed at me for continuing to attend home games and for watching every single game on TV when we were 15 games under .500. I asked them to GET TA STEPPIN'!

I can't help it, the 'Stros are my addiction. We're playing NL baseball the way it's supposed to be played right now. Pitching, defense, and speed. The only way I could be happier is if we are able to find an everyday left fielder and a little bit of bullpen help. A lefthanded RP would be most excellent!

Mr. Clemens, say it with me. ONE MORE YEAR, ONE MORE YEAR, ONE MORE YEAR!
