http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opium_poppy The opium poppy, Papaver somniferum, is the type of poppy from which opium and many refined opiates such as morphine, thebaine, codeine, papaverine, and noscapine are extracted. The binomial name means, loosely, the "sleep-bringing poppy", referring to its narcotic properties. The seeds are important food items, and contain healthy oils used in salads worldwide. The plant itself is valuable for ornamental purposes. lame.
Careful, that stuff is Schedule II. You could go to pound-me-in-the-@$$ federal prison for that for a VERY long time. Sure, the Feds typically don't enforce that law when opium poppies are sold for decorative purposes, but it doesn't mean they WON'T when kids start getting high off this stuff. You do not want to be a test case for that decision, trust me.
