http://www.totalperformancemustangs.com/ I'm also the president of this new club. I'm pretty excited about it. We have 17 members already and we're growing fast. We're also working on a Mustang Club of America Charter. Pretty cool stuff.
Nice Mustang, man. Do you have the 5-lug conversion? Couldn't tell from the pics. That white vert is nice, as well. Are ya'll planning on expanding the galleries to include more pics (engine pics, etc)? Cool deal, man.
You guys have more recent models? I had a '65 fastback for several years, that I got from my Dad. He bought one of the first fastback Mustangs in Texas, that he ordered from the Orange, Texas Ford dealership... owned by the father of one of his students at a major Houston university. (he was a prof) It looked like the one in this photo (I did a quick google), except it had stock wheels and didn't have the add-on headlights in the grille. It was the same silver grey and had a red interior, no pin stripes (thank god!), with the 289 V-8. That thing would haul a**! I loved that car, as did Dad. I used to sneak friends into the drive-in movies through the little door that passed through to the trunk, from behind the rear seat. You could only do one skinny person, though... little opening and tiny trunk. Congrats on the club. You should have a lot of fun!
Man, cars are such an expensive hobby....I have a white '93 GT 5.0 hatchback that I've had for ten freakin' years. It still looks great and it runs well despite nearly 150K miles. I never seem to have the dough to get it where I want it. That said, I have absolutely ZERO intention of ever getting rid of that car. My list of mods is short and cheap, but here goes: 2-chamber Flows running through a custom X-pipe with high-flow cats K&N filter Bilstein suspension on all four corners That's it besides the Hurst shifter. I kept the gears at the 2.73 ratio for gas mileage purposes. Everything else has been spent on upkeep because its also my daily driver. I've replaced the tranny with a Tremec and I've been through a few clutches (currently with the Ford King Cobra model), and of course tires are never cheap. That said, the motor is still plenty strong. I've got a list of mods a mile long I'd like to do one of these days. ::sigh:: One of these days....
No 5 lug conversion yet. That's a pricey project, because when i do that, I will go to the rear disk, as well as going to 17 " rims and DR tires as well. For that kind of $$$, I'm going to rebuild the original block to a 347 Stroker kit and go w/ an aluminum radiator and some suspension components. Steve w/ the white 93 supercharged vert does have that brake package, and his car rides on rails. We have more members, but I have to go and get their pictures so I can upload them. Eventually, each member's car will link to an individual car page w/ mods and more pics of their cars. I'll also be putting a gallery up of pictures of the events we a in. We do have some classics, but I haven't gotten those pics yet. All in due time. Our club is only two weeks old, but we are already having out shirts made, recruiting members, and planning out some events. We are goiing to be helping the Food Bank of the RGV in some of their fundraisers and we also want to work w/ local PD's on a toy drive. I'm thinking Car Wash, but pay w/ unopened toys. I'll make sure to keep you guys updated, if oyu all don't mind.
Good work FT. Car clubs can take up a bunch of your time. I'm the current president of the Houston MINI Motoring Society. We've volunteerred at the zoo and adopted a stretch of highway to give back to the community. We also go out to track days at Texas World Speedway and numerous other events. Good luck and enjoy the club.
I like that idea. I'm going to steal that idea from you if you don't mind. BTW, site updated a little.
I've recently retired my 93' Cobra, and bought a truck. I still have the 93' but it's a weekend ride only..working downtown and all the road hazards that come with it..suck! Nice club...I remember way back when I wanted to start something like that...funny how your priorities are changed [for you] when you get married. I still make it out occasionally to the FFW in baytown every year..when it's not rained out.
My first car was a 1966 289 White Mustang Coupe. Loved that car. My second car was a 1987 Black 5.0 Mustang GT Convertible. I loved those cars. (BTW, all six of my cars have been black or white. Coincidence?!?)
I will be adding a forum in the not too disant future, but I haven;t decided if I should open it up to the public or keep it strictly club members to discuss club business.
