Look in the bright side, at least we had a season

I remember last November the season was in jeopardy. There would have been no basketball and guess what? Rockets would have gotten the 14th pick anyway for the draft if the season was cancelled cause of last years record.

So basically we got 4 months of basketball and the 14th pick again. Which is better than 0 months of basketball and the 14th pick again.

This season isn't legitimate even, whoever wins will always have a asterisk.

Eh... the lockout could have saved me from 4 months of disappointment.

This season was 100% without purpose. Unless Morey can somehow trade up in the lotto which I am very doubtful.

The lockout being lifted is what killed the Rockets. They could possibly have two lottery picks right now had only one season been sacrificed. Botched trade, lose Nene and Chuck Hayes, Jeremy Lin, amnesty exception born giving the Knicks Tyson Chandler, no significant moves at the deadline, 14th pick territory again... nothing good came of this season really. Parsons and Dragic I guess, but even Goran is an unrestricted free agent.

    yea lucky us..

it would have been the last 3 years records added up and placed in order. the knicks would have had the 8th worst record in the league, and that pick would be ours...

dont give me this positive thinking crap... I rather gone without a season just to see how they would have positioned the draft. Plus that Knicks pick would have been alot nicer i think

This illustrates the faulty logic of the rockets management team. This feeling right now. Using grizzled veteran players to get you within a few games of the playoffs, is the worst possible outcome. You don't make the playoffs and you barely have a shot at a high draft pick.

It's the same scenario repeated year after year. The trading deadline fosters this false dichotomy that the rockets can have one foot in the rebuilding mode and one foor in the just trade everybody for dwight rental.

How many times over the last couple of seasons do the rockets organization "leak" information that they are willing to accept any star, no holds bar, only to be let down by the harsh reality that nobody wants to do business with the rockets.

The Pau Gasol deal was more about raping the Hornets than the Rockets acquiring a big name star on ya'll's own. The only reason that Pau was available at all was because the lakers were getting the best of the deal.

This is a rinse and repeat cycle. The facts are the only big name guy the rockets ever brought in was Kevin Martin in recent memory.

The worst is we overvalued our team when we were winning against big teams which was bound to dissappoint us. I still believe we have more talent than at least the Suns but probably the Nuggets as well. Seeing those teams easily being in now with us losing hurts.

yea clutch is right. Pretty much a wasted season. Parsons and Dragic were the only bright spots. Im already sick to my stomach about how this season is ending. If we lose goran later I might just lose it.

Dragic is definitely going to sign somewhere else especially now that our season has ended like this. All these losses and not making the playoffs have pretty much guaranteed it. He'll take the opportunity to go to a more competitive contender type team. He'd be stupid not to.

whomever wins may have an asterisk..but that asterisk should probably mean "won the title in a shortened nba season where the schedule was just brutal for all teams". to me, it seems like it would be more of an accomplishment than just winning it in a regular season.

Im just so ready for Playoff Basketball. Underdogging it the whole way! I want Lakers to loose first round, Memphis to beat the Clippers first round (hopefully thats the first round match up) and who ever plays the Spurs to knock them out of contention and become the second team in Texas to get spanked by a 8th seed.
