Oh come on, you knew this was coming. Seriously though, what is the problem with your team? Was losing Tucker THAT much of a blow? Aldridge? What's the deal?
When you lose your best player to grades and another big contributer, not to mention a couple of other guys to injury, of course it's gonna be a big impact. Also, only having seven available players in the Boulder air is never a good thing. Buckman's stepping it up though. 15+ boards the last two games. If they can get the rest of the team healthy, I think the freshman who are just now starting to get some big playing time (Williams and Dowell) can come around and maybe they can make a decent run in the Big XII tourney. Or, they face not making the tourney at all. Who knows.
It'll be interesting to see how Texas rebounds. CU is, in my opinion, one of the worst team's in the nation. I believe only 1/2 the roster before this season had ever played Division 1-A basketball. That said, we're young and Roby and Hall are nice building blocks. I was just in complete shock all last night. I didn't know Aldridge was out (I missed that), but knew about Tucker. It's a shame because I wanted to see how Aldridge played. Oh well. Is he done for the season? I thought that's what someone said last night.
We only had seven scholarships players last night and have been without two of our best three players, possibly our best two, for the last three weeks.
Probably so, even though Klotz seems like he misses about two lay-ups a game. Still, it'd be nice to have another big body in there. I think if they can win their next three, which is entirely possible, these kids could gain some confidence.
KUDOS to UT's athletic department for caring about grades and taking a stand on PJ Tucker. This is a refreshing development considering the harm it will do them in terms of on-court success.
Absolutely. I will refrain from sharing my full thoughts on this issue in this forum, however, due to the pissing match that will surely ensue.
From everything I've heard, PJ accepted responsibility, apologized for letting everyone down, and basically took it like a man, vowing to learn from it. LeCure on the other hand...
If you have reason to believe that the Longhorns wouldn't punish a player due to grades, I'm sure we'd all like to hear it. HONESTLY, it may have slipped my mind. I'm not trying to get in a pissing match. Don't be afraid of an admin.
Yes I will be there. I'm going to make the Rice/A&M game and the Rice/Baylor game. I can't get off work in time for the Friday game. I'd like to make the A&M/Tennessee game to see Tennessee's stud pitcher, but I'm not sure if I can make it or not yet.
The starters will most likely be Ueckert, Geer and Savery in some order. One interesting note would be if Ryne Tacker (Rice) pitches against his former team, the Aggies. He'd probably serve in a relief role. Our rotation is wide open right now with the departure of our big 4 from last year. We don't really have a clear cut #1 starter like the Ags do with Meyer. I heard you were throwing him versus Tennessee, with Marlatt probably going vs Rice.
