I ran a version of this play in college on my flag football team. We set a ball down on the sidelines, and then did the..."That is not our ball" trick, I walked to the sideline and slung it about 50 yards for a TD to our receiver jogging towards the other ball. Used it 2 times in one season....we went undefeated......woot ! DD
Is it legal in the NFL? Can you give the ball to the quarterback like this? I thought you only could give it by giving it through the legs like its normal.
It's one thing to use trick plays in High school and college but in Middle school? that's bush league. The kids are barely learning about the game.
Saw the original one several years ago. A few weeks later I saw a local team try it. Apparently the defense had seen it too. AS soon as the center moved the ball to hand it to the QB the MLB ran up the middle and crushed him. Result was a fumble and turnover.
BTW - the coach has to always alert the refs he is going to run it, so they don't blow the whistle. DD
