Uh, okay, so the third best team in the west lost to the third best team in the east and you're lol at them? What's wrong with that?
Both the Mavs and Nuggets completely folded at home down the stretch tonight. The Celts grabbed the game from the Mavs while the Bucks were determined to give it away to the Nuggets, who wouldn't accept it. This is worst game I've ever seen Bogut play. He was worthless. Salmon's has really found his place with the Bucks. He's exactly what they needed to go to another level. Don't know if they can keep it up, but the Bucks could throw a scare into their 1st round opponent.
This is why I think both the mavs and nuggets wouldn't give serrious trouble to the lakers in the playoffs.
The Lakers also play the same way the Mavs and Nuggets do. They don't have that killer instinct to put away teams either. To me, i think the west is WIDE open.
If we exchanged with the mavs to play tonight, I believe we could win. btw, we went further than the mavs last playoffs (game 7 vs. game 5). This season, we lost our two stars. It's a special situation. And, don't be so sure that we won't make the playoffs. We might still go futher than the mavs this playoffs.
Yeah, we can't make the playoffs... after we overachieved for most of the season not even having our best player for the whole season and making a major trade mid-season to improve our team, not to mention if we were in the East we would be in the playoffs right now. Lakers also didn't have their best player playing in that game... you know the one that hit the game winner the last time those two teams played each other.
so you're making excuses on why they lost? and how many points they lost by? You created a thread, asking how the Mavs are going to contend because of losing to Boston....who's been one of the best teams in the league since acquiring Garnett and Allen.....who held the Mavs 8 pts below their season average and Houston 14 points below their season average.....who held Brooks and Martin (who's been on a tear lately) to just 27 points combined Friday. Boston plays great defense, and is a great team when healthy. So many teams can make excuses as to why they lost...a player can be out...or a player could just be having a bad game....it happens LOL at Mavs for losing to Boston? ...not the Nets, or the Timberwolves....but Boston?
Lakers lost by 1 point and it was because their closer didn't play. Not excuse, just a fact. Just like that we didn't win many games because Yao didn't play. And, yes. "LOL at Mavs for losing to Boston, ...not the Nets, or the Timberwolves....but Boston." Because the mavs made a big trade and supposed to be a contender. They could lose a lottery team, but shouldn't lose to another contender. This is a true testment for them, they should give their 100% (I think they did). But, they failed.
btw, why are you guys so serious? I have to say that you lack the sense of humor! Mavs are our division rival. Why couldn't make fun of them?!
Jason Kidd turned the ball over in a key possession down the stretch. Marion faded in the 4th. Butler was inconsistent. I thought for a while there they could have beaten Boston when they got (what was it) a 5-point lead in the 4th. Boston didn't get the favorable calls in Dallas that they got versus the Rockets the other night. The refs allowed Boston to bully us. I would have wanted Haywood though on our team. He would have given us defensive toughness which we still lack.
I think you're crediting Boston too much, they aren't really up to par.... You can make the excuse of Garnett being banged up and players being in and out of their rotation because of injuries and such, but Boston really hasn't played this whole season... they aren't that same team anymore as they were back in 2007-2008. Most people aren't even including in the likes of the Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Orlando Magic anymore as finals possibilities. I do, however, see your point in disagreeing with the OP about him mocking the Mavs. It's the general hate of the Mavs.... you can't expect anyone here to like the Mavs. I sure as hell don't.
