LOCK IT UP .. Didn't see that it was already posted! http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2919929 According to ESPN, the Portland Trailblazers are planning to buy out Steve Francis contract and make him a free agent THIS summer. I know we have glut of guards at the momment, but if we make a deal for front line help we will most likely trade a couple of our guards. I think signing Steve for the mid level exception or less would be a good signing since Steve would be an upgrade on most of the back court players we currently have. What do you guys think???
Although I would love to see Francis back on the team, we are completely set at the guard spots. I can guarantee that at the beginning of the season we will have James and Brooks. To have one more small guard would not be in the best interest of the team.
Trading Rafe would leave the Rockets with ZERO playmaking at PG. Jame, Lucas, Brooks, etc. are ALL hobbit sized SGs. VSpan status is up in the air.
