Alton Ford, a 6-9, 270-lb PF from Milby High here in Houston has been cut by the Magic. He's big and hungry and cheap. Could he be the backup PF we need or is Meech a better choice?
Amaechi is already paid for. Gonna just have to get used to the idea of him being around, unless they manage a trade and include him, and that can't happen til around Christmas.
At his $$$ why would he have been cut unless either the talent and/or head was lacking? Sounds like a clear message.
No new players! At least for right now. Just let these guys gel and develop some chemistry. We already overhauled almost half our roster.
We still need another PF if Eddie stays in limbo. We only have one proven PF in MoT and he's not the greatest rebounder in the would. Unless Cato continues to show that he can play the position without getting into foul trouble we need some type of back up plan. That or pray that Miller can give us some major minutes.
Alton Ford should have never come out of UH after one year because he wasn't ready. I played against the man in high school and I knew that he would be a great 12th man on any NBA team oneday. Great high school baller, aight college (if he would have stayed longer), 12th man or NBDL as a professional. Rockets shouldn't waste their time.
