Just noticed this on yahoo, i think it is new. For example, Sunday's game against Spurs is listed as: +12-105 -12-105 176 ov+101 by Pinnacle Sports.com However I never gamble and don't know how to read this. Can anyone educate me?
I assume the rockets were with the above row and SA were on the bottom. +12 means we are a 12 point underdog.
Rockets +12 means they are the underdog. If you bet on that, and the ROckets either win or lose by less than 12 points, then you win money. If they lose by 12 then it is a push and you lose nothing, but you dont win anything either. If you take the points on the Spurs, then they would have to win by more than 12 in order for you to win money. The money line is Rockets +950, meaning if you bet 100 on the Rockets to win straight up, you wouyld win 950. You would have to bet 1350 on the Spurs to win 100 straight up. 176 is the over/under. If you bet on the over, then the combined score of the game would have to be over 176 for you too win, and vice versa on the under. Have fun if gambling is legal where you are I would take the Rockets to cover the 12 points by the way.
