This weekend on Saturday MTV, XM radio and America Online are going to carry as much of the concerts as possible. And it's good to see Neil Young back on his feet again! He's going to headline the Canadian concert. ---------------- TORONTO - Neil Young will mark his return on stage by performing at Canada's Live 8 concert Saturday, three months after he was treated for a brain aneurysm. Young will close out the show, accompanied by the Fisk University Jubilee Choir, organizers said this week. The free concert, one of nine to be held simultaneously around the world to raise awareness of poverty in Africa, will be held in Barrie, just north of Toronto. Bryan Adams, Our Lady Peace and Motley Crue are among the scheduled headline acts at Canada's Live 8 concert. Dan Aykroyd and Tom Green will host the show, which will mostly feature Canadian artists, including Jann Arden, Gordon Lightfoot and The Tragically Hip. Concerts also are scheduled Saturday in London, Moscow, Berlin, Rome, Tokyo, Philadelphia, Paris and Johannesburg, South Africa. official website http://www.live8live.com/theconcerts/index.shtml Anybody interested

# of acts I would actually want to see in each city.... London - 2 Paris - 0 Berlin - 2 Philly - 2 Barrie - 2 I'll watch the highlights.
There were about 7 bands I wanted to see in all and 90% of them were in London. There were no bands/artists in the last two cities mentioned I liked.
Randy Bachman from BTO and Burton Cummings from the Guess Who, plus supporting musicians. I imagine for their set they will do a 10 minute version of "Takin Care of Business" and a 10 minute version of "These Eyes" and then make way for the next band.
Just doesn't have the same buzz that Live Aid had. Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Gordon Lightfoot, Crosby, Stills & Nash and Neil Young are the only acts I care to see. Deep Purple with no Ritchie Blackmore is not worth seeing.
The Philly and London shows are going to be amazing. I'm pretty freaked out about watching post-Syd Pink Floyd together again.
Yeah - the real meat of it to me is the Pink Floyd performance with Roger Waters. I really didn't think it would ever happen.
Sting would be another person who's a hero. The music he's created over the years, I don't really listen to it, but the fact that he's making it, I respect that.
Acts I want to see: London Elton John Killers, The Madonna Paul McCartney REM Scissor Sisters Snoop Dogg Sting U2 UB40 Velvet Revolver Paris Cure, The Sheryl Crow Berlin A-ha Audioslave Brian Wilson Chris de Burgh Green Day Philly Black Eyed Peas Bon Jovi Dave Matthews Band Def Leppard Destiny's Child Jay-Z Josh Groban Linkin Park P Diddy Toby Keith Barrie Barenaked Ladies Bryan Adams Great Big Sea Jet Motley Crue Our Lady Peace Simple Plan
Acts I would like to see: London Coldplay Dido Keane Killers, The Paul McCartney Pink Floyd REM Snoop Dogg Snow Patrol Sting Travis U2 UB40 Velvet Revolver Paris Andrea Bocelli with the Philarmonie der Nationen Cure, The Dido (in Paris too along with London?? ) Muse Placebo Sheryl Crow Yannick Noah (just because of the comedic effect of seeing a former tennis great singing ) Youssou N'Dour Berlin A-ha Audioslave Brian Wilson Chris de Burgh Crosby Stills & Nash Faithless Green Day Roxy Music Philly Dave Matthews Band Def Leppard Maroon 5 Sarah McLachlan Stevie Wonder Barrie Bryan Adams Deep Purple DMC Jann Arden Jet Motley Crue Neil Young Definitely looks like I need to check into getting a highlights DVD that hopefully has Floyd, Roxy, and The Cure playing their entire sets.
The only bands I'd want to see are: London Paul McCartney Pink Floyd Snoop Dogg Paris Cerrone / Nile Rogers (Nile Rogers is The Man. One of the funkiest guitarist ever) Cure, The Shakira (for obvious reasons) Berlin Audioslave Philly Black Eyed Peas (just to see Fergie's boobies) Dave Matthews Band (minus the political commentary) Stevie Wonder Barrie Barenaked Ladies Motley Crue (only if Tommy plays upside-down) Neil Young
The closest they got to political commentary during the shows was Dave coming out before to introduce the opening band and encouraging everyone to vote. He said you knew who he was voting for, but he didn't care as much about who you voted for, just that you voted. That, and the song that contains the quote in my sig, but they haven't been playing that this tour.
So ima, You have no interest in seeing Sting despite your love for The Police?? I understand not wanting to get his solo stuff as I am the same way, but I would not turn down a chance of seeing him live. He might even play a Police song or two.
Bands that i would like to see: London Keane The Killers REM Pink Floyd U2 Paris Shakira (i said "see" not hear ) Berlin A-ha Audioslave Green Day Philly Alicia Keys Dave Matthews Band Linkin Park Maroon 5 Barrie Bryan Adams The Bachman Cummings Band Jet Motley Crue Our Lady Peace Sam Roberts The Tragically Hip Neil Young
