I don't know how many of ya'll watch this, but I have some special interest in it this year. The little league I played in a few years back is only 2 wins away from making it to the Little League World Series. They played today and I am still waiting on a score from that game, and if they won they will play on Sunday on ESPN2 to decide who goes to the LLWS. So watch out for the Lamar 11/12 year olds from Richmond!
I love the LLWS...pure baseball without the dollars getting in the way. The crack of the bat, the flash of the green field and the reddish brown dirt...and this year is extra special for me too because my Dad is coming out of retirement to play for a team from Florida...
Well I just found out that they won (barely 1-0) but hey I'll take it. So one more win and they are there! So if you feel like rooting for a hometown team, tune in to ESPN2 at 7pm on Sunday!
Whatever became of the Cuban kid controversy? Not elian, but the freakishly tall 14 year old with a monster slider.
Sorry this was so late, but I was out when the game was going on so I taped it and just finished watching it. Well the team from Richmond won, and on their way to the World Series!! Congrats to this team and let's see how far they can go!
How come the intl kids have to play in their own bracket, and the american kids get to play in their own bracket. Basically, the USA has a 50/50 shot every year to win it all. Then the intl plays the american kids for the LL world series.
Well, the international team has won 7 of the last 9 tournaments, so the United States having their own bracket is simply to cover up just how much better international kids are at baseball. The United States would probaby get routinely knocked out in the first round if there was a more conventional bracket...
