Check out the play clock when the ball is snapped. Great play, but the Spartans got away with one there.

That was a great and gutsy plays but its one of those that if it didn't work it would've been considered a boneheaded play.

I haven't been able to watch or follow much college football but is MSU's kicker unreliable so the coach felt going for a fake was a reasonable gamble?

Wait, so this went though all the breakdown of the clocks and broadcast to show that...the play was late which we knew from the original broadcast?

    that was an amazing play.

a shame the Mich St coach suffered a heart attack an hour after the game. Hope he returns to full health.

Did they just not have enough guts in their kicker to get the job done or what?

Number 4 on Notre Dame should have went for the sack instead of picking up on the kicker.

It's a play they run. They used the exact same play last year versus Texas Tech in their bowl game. There's some history there as well they lost to ND last year in a similar close game last year and Mark Dantonio and Brian Kelly both coached at Cinci. I think he just said **** it and wanted to win the game.

If you watch the play the CB falls down so they actually had the play covered so it could have gone the other way. Dantonio literally had a heart attack over this play so yeah it took balls.

That fake play was not nearly as cool as I thought it would be based on the thread title.

No, it's saying the ball was snapped with 1/5 of a second left.

You sure? It shows, play clock elapsed, then + 1/5 of a second when the ball is snapped.

I think that's to show the difference between the ESPN clock at the bottom and the stadium play clock.

That's enough to give a coach a heart attack!
