What lineup would you like to see used? I would want to see: Van Vleet Whitmore Eason Smith Sengun With Green, Brooks, Amen, and Tate off the bench...
Thinly disguised “Jalen Green sucks” thread. And after years of defending him, I couldn’t agree more. I just lost all faith in him.
Stone is not putting his #2 overall pick on the bench Jalen has until trade deadline of next season to show something even if he still sucks by then, Stone might still fck around and give him a 4/80 deal with a TO or some sort of non-guarantee thrown in there somewhere
You’re probably right. Maybe Ime has enough cache with Tito to get more say on personnel, but I doubt it.
Right now I'd like to see this starting 5: FVV - Green - Amen - Brooks - Sengun When Jabari comes back Amen goes back to the bench. I think you run Holiday - Cam - Tate - Uncle - Landale of the bench until then. Amen on the bench is a problem because he's so versatile do you slot him behind Fred and lose Holiday? I think the other option is something like Holiday - Cam - Amen - Uncle with Tate as the small ball 5. Tate is losing time to Amen anyway and Landale has struggled more than anyone. He's not rim protector but he will give up his body for charges. If at 100% I think this is how I see the ideal 8 man rotation (with minutes): FVV (36) - Jalen (36) - Brooks (28) - Jabari (36) - Sengun (36) Amen (24) - Cam (18) - Eason (24) They've got to find a way to have Jabari at the 5 with some sturdier wing lineups. Like an Amen - Cam - Brooks - Eason - Smith lineup. That lineup isn't big big but it's extra medium as hell.
Sengun Smith Brooks FVV SG from trade I have been saying Green is a better fit off the bench because his skillsets and Sengun are not complementary with each other. I have been observing Cam's interactions with the starters and Cam is one year away from ready to start. If Amen can shoot like Whitmore, he'd be the perfect fit, but he still needs time to improve his shots. Let's get a player who can shot and is expiring with a team option on the second year would be ideal. 1.5 years remaining with no sting attached is also fine. Over two years that have to be a game changer like Murray. Eveyone wants Caruso and Bulls may not even want to trade him. I'm not impressed with Mikal Bridges and he is not worth us giving them back all their picks. One interesting option would be DLO. The Lakers wants to trade for Murray, but the Hawks do not want DLO. The Hawks want expiring and at least a FRP for Murray, so they may need a third team. If Lakers asks for two 2nd rounders + expiring for DLO, we may consider that. Anything more than 2nd rounders is an automatic "NO".
I want to see Cam with the starters to see how he does, and also interested to see how Jalen does off the bench running with Amen and Tari in transition. I think Cam's catch and shoot game is more of what we need in the starting lineup, this offense is essentially designed to be FVV-Sengun PnR surrounded by 3 largely stationary shooters. I don't like the design of this offense. Jalen is getting pats on the back for grabbing 10 rebounds when he should be beating his man in transition instead. He should be in the corners where he makes 45% of his 3's when FVV and Sengun are running PnR and those guys need to hit the open corner shooter way more often than they do. Our team is allergic to transition and corner 3pters, without question two of the best shots in basketball and we take the fewest ATTEMPTS on those. We are way too flawed an offensive team to be taking as many mid range jumpers as we do (15th most attempts, 20th in efficiency) but I think this is happening because our players are running into a packed paint very often. We're so slow that we play against set opponent defenses more than the majority of NBA teams, we are making offense difficult on ourselves in this way despite having one of the most athletic rosters in the NBA. There's little to no off ball movement. It seems very difficult for Tari, Bullock, Tate, FVV, Green, Amen and Cam to drive into the paint successfully on a high volume and this is by far the biggest thing missing for our offense to have a chance at being top 10-15. All of these guys are either extremely low volume or extremely low efficiency at the rim. Can't be that the whole roster forgot how to drive. Seems systemic. Ime has been making changes to the offense recently. I honestly think they were focused on defense and we'll see changes. In Boston too at the mid point of the season he quit trying to fit people into pre-conceived roles and started to allow the roster to play to its strengths a bit more. In turn they bought in more on defense and stopped complaining. Our team is just now developing chemistry and starting to understand each other. Don't underestimate the impact of chemistry, it can raise a team into a whole new tier.
If Jabari is out Amen needs to start. Jeff Green starting the past 3 games has made my eyes bleed. For the start Cam people, when Jalen got sent to the bench they scored 8 straight points on Cam.
I'm not a Jalen only fans guy but it's more about seeing what Cam and Tari can do in expanded roles. Jalen has had 2.5 seasons to show us. Time for Cam is my opinion...
