Lin has some major upside, no doubt.

He just finished his first year and he can pass better than Kyle, penetrate better than Kyle and even shoot better than Kyle did early in his career. I would say his upside is easily above Kyle's.

I have both on my fantasy squad...they are productive.

I'd take that production too - he'd be Chris Paul at that point!

I don't disagree with that. I said that realistically his position would be something similar to Lowry was last year. Borderline all-star, but due to the heavy packed talented PGs in the league he would have trouble qualifying as an all-star unless he was voted in.

Lowry's upside was something along the lines of 16/6/6, something he did manage to put up for a while last season. Those are some impressive numbers already by itself, and numbers not a lot of people were putting up.

Beverley has played well lately and I like his intensity but he can't run the offense as well as Lin. You can see a drop in the way the offense play when he is in the game most of the time. I'm happy he is here pushing Lin, that helps keep the starters working hard to keep their spot.

I understand what you mean now. Yes there are some many great point guards in the league right now that borderline all star is still a very high level player.

    It's a complicated question.

Saying Lin is inconsistent doesnt just mean the downside is the only variable....the upside is as well. You have to ask why he did well in some games vs. others. Was it him, or is it they way the defense was playing him?

Scola is actually a good comparison for him. PG and PF are the deepest positions in the NBA today. Both could be starters on championship teams, but they can't carry a team like a Harden/Paul/Dwight/etc could. Both have elite skills in a few areas, but also have significant deficits that they may not be able to correct enough to become truly elite all around players.

Lin will be our "Scola" to Harden's "Yao".

I don't know if inconsistency is sign of stardom. I think it is more so a sign of a young player.

Right on. Lin was actually deterred to take a lot of shots a game for very strange reasons from the HC.

    This.

For some people here, its elite or bust. Morey is paying him to be average, A jameer Nelson, Devin Harris. He's banking on the potential hes shown. Lin while inconsistent, has given plenty of flashes that.

Check out Lin's numbers during wins and losses. The only real difference is his shooting percentage and one extra assist. When Lin is shooting well, it creates so much space for his teammates.

    Yes

In addition to court vision, hard working-ness, other great points, I like that Lin is cold blooded when things are on the line. Something you cannot teach.

Fatastic, let's hope his hard work and intelligence will eventually help him maximizing his potential.

Sample size is a bit too small.
