So, back in February, a number of people here were complaining about how the Rockets figure out Jeremey Lin's greatness during his 2-week training camp/preseason run with the Rockets and stupidly cut him to make room to sign Sam Dalembert even though they had last year's starting (Lowry) and backup (Dragic) PGs in the fold and traded for a 3rd PG (Flynn) under guaranteed contract.

The existence of Dragic on the roster was dismissed because he was a backup and not playing nearly as well as he would when he later became a starter.

Now, it seems that some of the same people are complaining about the Rockets chasing Jeremy Lin because it must be only for PR purposes.

So, what were you saying about Lin back in February and what are you saying about it now? Did anything change your mind as to whether Jeremy Lin is a high level talent that the Rockets let go or simply a publicity tool?

I bought into the hype then and called him a future star.
Now, I know he can be a capable starter in this league.

However the average reaction on Clutchfans was this:
    OMG LIN IS SUPERSTAR!
    DRAGIC SUCKS!
    -Lin gets hurt-
    OMG DRAGIC IS SUPERSTAR!
    LIN SUCKS!

Good luck getting a straight answer. These guys are more wishy washy on Lin than they are on Morey

I like to pretend that we never let Lin go and we kept him all along. As long as we get him back all will be well. PR or not the guy can flat out play.

Lowry>Lin, why would we pay Lin more than Lowry, even if we have to trade Kyle no way he deserves 7-8mil.

It was always Flynn vs Lin, don't go revisionist.

I think he is ok. I do think he is starting caliber and i also think that Les would love to get some of the chinese market excited about Houston again.

Back in February I saw cutting him as a necessary evil to get us Dalembert (a much needed center). I was disappointed at the missed opportunity when he went off for his 15 minutes during the season, but still believed that he would've been buried on the depth chart and we had to cut him. Now I see his signing as a definite PR move to appeal to the asian fanbase established by Yao. I would rather keep lowry around (unless he's in a deal for Dwight) than spend unnecessary dollars on Linsanity.

Its the only move if we lose Dragic that would make up for Dragic. It was a bad move to keep Flynn and let Linn go at the time. Thats not debated. Its fact now.

All we have to do is check the Knicks draft pick that came to us after he became their starter. Besides the production and Flynn being out of the NBA soon.

Jeez, no one is hating on Lin, there is nothing wrong with going after him - but it is the fact that MOREY is settling on him rather than getting his top target in Dragic.

Lin is a nice consolation prize, but the Rockets need to stop settling for scraps and get on with getting better players.

At the end of the day

    Dragic > Lin

So if you are a Rockets fan you want the BETTER player, pretty simple really.

And no need to open up another thread and waste server space on something you should be smart enough to know already.

    SHEESH !

    Pretty funny.

Before: Morey is a dumbass! That guy can't recognize talent for anything! He let him slip away! Ripped to shreds, by myself included.

Now: No way! We don't want Lin! That guy sucks! Bring back Dragic! You cheap bastards, just pay Gogi 2 million more(10 mil) so we can bring him back!

We could have had them both.......if the org knew how to recognize talent in practice.

You...YOU are talking about wasting server space? You post at such a high volume rate that it is ridiculous. In many threads you post more than twice as much as the next two highest posters combined. Yet you want to talk about a waste of space?

Funny thing: If we kept him (and, say, traded Dragic in that vetoed Gasol deal), he'd probably be in line for all the minutes that Dragic got if Lowry got injured. The Rockets then would be on the defensive side of the "poison pill" contract.

Its also funny how everyone on this board overrates this team tremendously.
    Lowry: All-star.
    Dragic: Superstar.
    D-Mo: Hall of famer.
    Chandler Parsons: Future LeBron.
    Lee: Best defender ever.

Meanwhile, we tear our players to **** if they have a mediocre season:
Martin: Worst player ever! Equivalent to dog ****!
    Scola: What a flopping b****!
Patterson: What a bust! This guy sucks! Injury? Who cares. Trade him for a 2nd round pick!
Morey: What an idiot! I bet I can be a better GM than that guy!

Apparently the Rockets disagree, since they offered Lin a similar deal to Dragic, per Feigen.
