RL comes under fire again after shots at Obama[and the Haiti situation]. Not surprising.

    Lock if already posted, thanks.

Its just sad how much influence this guy has. Its sad how much money he's made exploiting people's fears and biases.

And it's sad how many people are probably listening thinking "You tell 'em, Rush!"

Yeah, I think Obama was pretty much in a no-win situation here.

I mean who the %#@& wouldn't respond to this kind of tragedy right away with compassion as a representative of the United States? What if he hadn't responded to it quickly? "Obama doesn't care about the people of Haiti."

I mean the thought processes of these people are mind-boggling.

The guy is just doing what's working for him, don't hate the player, hate the game. I'm sure he doesn't believe half the crap he spews, he's a smart guy, just knows how to play to an audience. Not that I know much about this guy........all I know is that he is fun to listen to......in small doses.

Did he actually say this? Wow! Rush has really turned into Mr. Crankypants. Somebody needs to change his diaper. "Blockhead"? "Tampons in your ears"? Who's the bigot here? Who is closed-minded?

I haven't listened to Rush in years. He's probably worse now than when I stopped listening. He's using the same juvenile trick on his radio show that people do here: Insult, mock or ridicule people who make points or post comments you don't like in order to discourage them from doing so. That way, instead of discussing an issue, viewpoint or person, you try to stop people from bringing it up. This is cowardly.

This is surprising to you guys? Let's say Bush had the exact same response as Obama, I promise you Puff Daddy and Kanye would be on a telethon saying he is not doing enough because he hates black people. It is the exact same thing.

Because of Katrina, you think this?

    Terrible, terrible comparison.

When I stopped listening a long time ago, I would not have put Rush in that category. Shock jock is a term that applied to Michael Savage, who (IMO) did it for the sole purpose of being controversial and gaining attention. Rush already has a big audience. Is Rush now as bad as Savage?

CaseyH, so Rush is at the same level a PDiddy or Kanye?

You think Bush's reaction to Katrina and Obama's reaction to HAiti were the same?

    Where did I compare them?

Interesting, i didn't. Don't want to admit each side of the political game make hay out of whatever tragedy they can?

When you brought up Kanye's response which was addressing Bush's actions in Katrina you did.
