In another example of extreme hypocrisy on the Right, along for support for Arnold the Harasser, Rush is accused by his housekeeper of illgally purchasing oxycontin. She also says Rush has tried drug rehaa a couple of times.

It would be interesting to dredge up his comments regarding drug addcition and treatment.

Rush Limbaugh reportedly bought prescription painkillers

Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh is being investigated for allegedly buying thousands of prescription painkillers from a black-market drug ring, according to media reports today.

The New York Daily News reported that Limbaugh has been implicated by his former housekeeper, who says she was Limbaugh's pill supplier for four years.

CNN reported that sources close to the investigation that it did not identify said Limbaugh had turned up as a buyer of powerful painkillers but that he was not the target of the investigation.

Wilma Cline, 42, was quoted by the Daily News as saying Limbaugh was hooked on the potent prescription drugs OxyContin, Lorcet and hydrocodone, and went through drug rehabilitation twice.

"There were times when I worried," Cline told the National Enquirer, which also carried the story in an edition being published today. "All these pills are enough to kill an elephant -- never mind a man."

Cline could not be reached for further comment, but her lawyer, Ed Shohat of Miami, said his client "stands behind the story."

Cline told the Enquirer she went to prosecutors with information about Limbaugh and others after four years of drug deals that included clandestine handoffs in a Denny's parking lot.

She said she wore a wire during her last two deliveries and gave the tapes to authorities.

She also gave the Enquirer a ledger documenting how many pills she claimed to have bought for him -- 4,350 in one 47-day period -- and e-mails she claimed Limbaugh sent her.

In one e-mail, Limbaugh urged Cline to get more "little blues," the street name for the powerful narcotic OxyContin, she said.

"You know how this stuff works ... the more you get used to, the more it takes," the May 2002 e-mail read. "But I will try and cut down to help out."

Premiere Radio Networks, which syndicates the politically focused "Rush Limbaugh Show," issued a statement from Limbaugh Thursday saying: "I am unaware of any investigation by any authority involving me. No government representative has contacted me directly or indirectly. If my assistance is required, I will, of course, cooperate fully."

Mike Edmondson, a spokesman for the Palm Beach County state attorney's office, told The Associated Press early Thursday that his office could neither confirm nor deny that an investigation was under way.

The Enquirer reported that Cline became Limbaugh's drug connection in 1998, nine months after taking a housekeeping job at his Palm Beach, Fla., mansion.

Limbaugh's lawyers, Jerry Fox and Dan Zachary, refused to comment on the accusations.

Happens all the time, from both ends of the political spectrum, unfortunately.

A millionaire becoming involved in illegal drugs is hardly a misfortune. Where is the personal responsibility nonsense now buddy? It is sad that someone who's apparently all drugged up has so many followers.

    Shortly after Kurt Cobain's death:

:"...Kurt Cobain was, ladies and gentlemen, a worthless shred of human debris, who had been trying to kill himself for 12 years, and finally did it right, by using a shotgun, so he couldn't miss..."

Two wrongs don't make a right, but it damn sure makes a statement.

The bigger person or "Top Dawg" as ya'll seem to call him, has been "EXPOSED" as a hypocrite/idiot .... for the 1,000th time?

What do 100,000 of Rush wrongs add up to?

If found guilty, I guess Rush then supported terrorists... Right, War on Drugs propaganda ?!!!

I guess it is easy to pile on a guy, when he is "down." All of this coming out immediately after his "racist" comments is pretty fishy to me. I guess several of you are showing your true colors and hatred for this man who has done nothing to you. He shouldn't have brought up the race issue, but should he be crucified for it? Hell no.

I find it amusing that no matter what Bill Clinton did, be it committ perjury, allow our companies to sell sensitive technology to the Chicoms, allow our nuclear labs to be pilfered, refuse to actually reply effectively to the terrorist attacks on his watch, or get some extra-marital satisfaction in the Oral Office, you people went out of your way to defend him, even though many on your side of the aisle knew he was a total scumbag. It just shows you that your "tolerance" only applies to like-minded folks.

I notice that no where in his statement does Rush deny anything his former housekeeper is saying

I am reserving judgment (like everyone should) until we actually know something..

we'll see if this is just a publicity stunt or something of merit..

I believe that OxyContin is basically heroin in a pill (or can be abused as such) --- please correct me if i'm wrong. This would be quite ironic if these alleged charges turn out to be true.

i understand calling him a hypocrit...if true, he's earned the label. but celebrating at someone's misfortune like this seems less than good taste to me.

Honestly, I don't care about someone's drug use if A) they aren't harming others, and B) they are contributors to society.

No matter what you want to say about him, he is a hard worker and he has achieved alot. I don't condone his path to success as far as the wave of right wing rhetoric he has taken of a hold of. But i"There were times when I worried," Cline told the National Enquirer, which also carried the story in an edition being published today. If true, the hypocricy charge is legitmate.

Yes but can they kill Rush?

    Sorry
