Today, My 5 year old Niece was involved in a horrible car accident. The worst kind. Doing 45 and smacking into a stopped car, while the car behind them doing 45 smacked into them. She slipped out of the seat belt somehow (Its assumed she put the shoulder belt behind her) and tossed around the car. She was flown to a trauma center 1 hour away, with severe head and body trauma. I wont go into details, but it wasnt good. Now shes hanging on by a toenail, and my thoughts on life have radically changed. So I ask for all your prayers in hoping that Dana pulls through this and laughs it off tomorrow. Thanks in advance

Mine as well. Yes, it certainly does change the way you think. I've had my moments of that as well. I wish you and Dana the best. ------------------ Member of the pro-Collier/Langhi movement. IN RUDY WE TRUST!!

My prayers are with you and your niece as well, Dreamshake. My daughter is 5 also, and she has a habit of slipping the shoulder belt off her as well. I will be sure she never does this again. ------------------
Dreamshake, Ditto to what everyone has said. Thoughts are with her and your families. ------------------

Just a little update for all those who took the time to read this thread. Dana is a bit better know. The doctor told me what was the official terminology for her head ailments but I cant remember what it was called. All I know is she (doctor) gave me a chilling idea of how bad Dana's brain had been knocked around. The Doc told me to imagine running as fast as I could into a brick wall head first. Now thats doing about 12-15 mph. Now imagine doing it at 45, then having a brick wall hit you from behind at 45. Dana is awake and fairly alert. She is uncapable of speaking as of this moment, and the doctors arent sure why exept for the head damage that was done. But at least for now, she is improving and with me for at least a little while longer. I want to personally thank each and every one of you who gave their prayers, and or well wishing to My Neice Dana. I am humbled by your kindness. Thanks, Mark
Dreamshake, Hope your niece makes a full recovery! Remember, children have angels on by their side. I think there was one present during the accident and now next to her. God bless. [This message has been edited by Almu (edited July 09, 2000).]
My prayers will be with you and your niece. These moments certainly make you think and your post not only acts as a search for support from your peers which you certainly need, but it also gives us a call on life and its meaning. Thank you. I hope everything goes well and I am glad to hear that she has made a bit of a recovery. As Almu said, children have angels by their side. I certainly did earlier in my youth. ------------------ Nederland 2000 NBA+stupidity=Brand ROY NBA+common sense=Franchise MVP Houston Rockets Space Center- Not just another ClutchCity.NET clone.
