Sure, if you beat up straw man positions it's easy to find contradictory claims. I also hope not only 'liberals' "believe" in evolution.

    I'll tackle a few.
"White people are evil and racist". - beating up a straw man. Name one prominent liberal who has this position.

"Firmly believe in evolution" - "All individuals are equal". Another example of beating up a straw man. A more accurate liberal position would be "All individuals should have equal opportunities".

"Minorities are just as smart" -.... Wait.. What??!?! Are you saying the conservative position is that minorities are not as smart a white people? Are you confirming your white supremacy here? I hope EVERYONE on this message board believes that minorities can be just as smart as white people.

"Legalize all drugs". Another straw man. Here is a more nuanced and accurate liberal position - Legalize weed. All hard narcotics like heroine and cocaine should still be banned HOWEVER instead of incarcerating drug addicts let's try to cure them and make them productive members of society.

I'll let others take on the other ones. Don't feel like wasting more time on a poster who I am 70% sure is trolling because your shtick is what a liberal would act like if someone asked them to mimic a conservative for comedic purposes a la Stephen Colbert.

Wait, liberals think all white people are evil? There are a lot of white liberals in America are you sure about that? When you recognize systemic racism you're not declaring all white people to be evil and racist, lol. What silly thoughts you have.

Democrats are far more likely to have gone to college than Republicans.

    http://www.politifact.com/georgia/s...abato/education-level-tied-voting-tendencies/

"Romney ahead of Obama 47-42 among those without college degrees, while Obama leads Romney 51-42 among those with them. Similarly, those without college degrees lean toward voting for Republican congressional candidates 49-40, while those with them lean toward Democrats 46-44."

Just because you have a college degree doesn't necessary mean you know what's best for the country. If intelligence was the only factor why don't we elect scientists?

Anti-vax crowd is a weird hodge-podge of cooky libertarians and ultra left hippies. No ideological spectrum holds a monopoly on them.

Always thought anti vaxxers were a bi partisan crowd.
Anti GMO does tend to lean liberal that is true.

    But both are kooky minorities.

Just like the right-wing don't acknowledge the ancaps, most liberals don't acknowledge the ultra hippies.

    agree, but is it intentional?

Let's assume it is and ask how and why someone would think this simplistic chart would be a rallying cry of truth. What background and thought processes would yield this mindset?

When I was young back in the hippie days, we saw Vietnam as the breakdown of rationality in government where some vague ideals of dictating world events was deemed worthy of sending our friends to slaughter. The burning of the Cuyahoga River in 1969 opened out eyes to the rampant disregard industry had for the environment. I went to a newly integrated High School and saw the false narrative about black kids being different and the race riots over it.

That's how I began to think, that's how I became a liberal. I really don't understand how young people can be sucked in to the FAUX propaganda. I'd like to know.

If I were young right now, my number one concern would be the 1% bringing the quality of life of the average working American down to third world levels by taking all the profit and squeezing all the earned income. I would be about college costs rising faster than inflation and corporate lenders making college students indenture labors. I would be for the US insulating itself from events it cannot control by expanding renewable energy on an national security emergency level. I would seek the spirituality of common morals not exclusionary ones. (Get off my lawn you rednecks! ha)

I have some friends from HS that are now spout conservative memes on Facebook daily. I never thought they would hold the simplistic views that they portray. These 6-7 people were never the smartest people out there.

I have friends on Facebook that are smart and conservative also just to throw that out there.

Yep, some of my best friends who went through the same High School and college experience I did do it also. Most profess to be Christian also which seems like a big contradiction to me.

It could be that I've never faced any real hardships, no money issues, been married to my college sweetheart for 42 years etc. It may be the competition in life that requires a mindset against other people. It steels you to take advantages where you can, without guilt or remorse. I do know it's an individualistic view over a collective view. Do you see you self as me against the world or we are all in this together.

Many of the thirties crowd or maybe 40's crowd are still waiting for trickle down as promised in the form of econ 101 that they fell for. Hopefully this remains a relatively small cohort of folks who in their teens and 20's thought Ronald Reagan and Milton Friedman were Gods to the point that they don't even learn from their own life experiences.

I think the 20 somethings are realizing that they aren't going to be trickled down automatically by the market, but it sometimes seems like many are still blaming this on immigration or affirmative action-- anything but the billionaires who control what info they consume.

Interesting. I have noticed that leftie friends of mine from my youth who have drifted to a selfish conservative/"libertarian" world ( with its dog eat dog view and resentment of even minor social benefits for poor folk) have been those who have become depressed by life circumstances including job loss, major health problems etc.

That is a reason that I think Bernie Sanders is important. If we can get the living standards and security of a lot more Americans to be higher I do think it will somewhat, but of course not totally, help with such problems as racism and falling so easily for hatred of foreigners which feeds permanent war. The financially secure billionaires, who oppose greater security for the 99% are often psychopathic and a counter example but secure middle class folks tend in general to be fairly altruistic.
