I found a 42" LCD TV made by LG that I want to buy. If you own an LG, tell me about your experiences with the brand. Thanks.
i dont own one, but my cousin does and he loves it. Also, Ive heard they're really good from Consumer Reports magazine
Their XCanvas(?) line is pretty good.. A couple years ago when I stayed with family, I got to enjoy a 60" Plasma.. It was the first time watching HD and I was amazed.... Great stuff! I currently own a 40" Sony LCD so thats about all I can tell you.
i have an LG 19" flat screen computer monitor. its great, love it. i know thats not a tv....but from everything i've heard LG is pretty good in all their products.
Not to derail your thread, but... Here's a 50-inch Plasma for $1600 and free shipping: http://www.onecall.com/ProductDetails.aspx?id=86752 It gets a very good review from cnet.
Depends on the model... every company has low end and high end models (well almost every company). LG is the sister company of Zenith. They make good "upper middle-class" tv's. By that I mean, they're not necessarily low end and not necessarily high end. They're better than the typical names you read and think "who?".
I taught an English class at LG for a few months earlier this year. It's a Korean company and their reputation is pretty good. It is the second or third largest company in Korea (Samsung and Hyundai are the other big ones). They make tons of stuff: refrigerators, monitors, A/C units, TVs, etc.. My girlfriend has an LG flatscreen computer monitor and she loves it. It's a good brand.
That's a nice TV as well. This is the one that I was thinking about buying: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153...+Electronics&cName=Televisions&sName=LCD+TVs It'll end up being $949 with a Sears card.
Since its 42in my advice is find a model without 1080p and save even more. But the heart wants what the heart wants.
I don't think I would buy a LG. I've heard the failure rates were pretty high. Thats hearsay of course. I've only seen LG's in the low end of the business world. (hotel rooms, banks, convenient stores, ect .. ). Perhaps LG makes a very cheap model (quality and cost)that they sell to the business world because they all seem to have a bad picture. It seems as if other people are pretty satisfied with theirs...maybe because there are better quality LG's than others?
Was shopping for a flat screen recently. the guys at conn's at three different locations say the LG is almost as good as a sony. considering the price difference its a great deal.
I have a 32'' LCD made bu LG, very good quality, I love it. And the price was very good too. I recommend!
