an Acura MDX is basically a fixed up minivan

Might as well go with the Honda Odyssey.

    I like the RX 330.

I never really seen a vw taureq on the streets yet.

I'd take the Honda Pilot(Acura MDX + a little size, - a little style), BMW X5 or the Mercedes ML 350/500 over any of the three.

Of those, I would choose the RX, if you can stand spotting your car around every corner...

Of the three MDX. RX is really nice, but too many people have them. I would choose the Murano or FX over those three, though they aren't true SUV's.

well, let's give them the "Everyday phrases that sound dirty" test where you put "anal" in front of them.

    Anal Lexus RTX 330
    Anal Acura MDX
    Anal Volkswagon Taureq.

Don't know about anyone else, but they all sound like they have a wee bit too much instrumental precision to me.

    I'll pass.

Can't stand the Lexus. Too "chicky" looking. Nice vehicle, otherwise. Not very SUV-ish

MDX is too plain and not very SUV-ish. This used to be the bargain of the SUV world, but since they jacked up the price, it's not much of a bargain anymore.

Touareg. I remember when these things used to be called "station wagons". Now they bump up the power, so they're all "seksy". It's a first-generation car, so no telling what kind of bugs it may have in it. If you're looking to stand out from among the crowd, this is the way to go. It's also probably more of an SUV than the other 2.

I don't know... not much of a choice among the 3 to be honest. I wouldn't want any of them, but if pushed to make a choice, I'd throw money down on the Touareg.

Most of those "chick" versions of SUV's (include the Volvo too) won't even hold a set of golf clubs in the back. I did extensive research and test drives before I bought my Mercedes ML. I believe for the money it offers the most room , best ride, best re-sale value and will last the longest. I bought a second used one on e-bay for my niece and found an unbeliveable deal.

Always buy slightly used or a demonstrator if you can and save that 'drive off the lot' depreciation.

By the way , you can't get a set of golf clubs in a Hummer 2 either with the gigantic spare in the back.

Go with an Infiniti QX4. If I had to choose from the 3, Id go with the Acura every time.

If you want a Lexus, I would consider a used LX 470.

If money is not the issue, I will go for Infiniti FX45. My friend got one, and I drove it, runs like a sports car, bad ass!!

My mom drives a ML, and this really is an awesome car. Far superior ride to both the MDX and RX(A stronger, SUV-type drive that still maintains a Mercedes feel). I've never driven the VW, so I don't know how the drives compare. The ML is also the second fastest SUV sold(Porsche just had to go out and make a SUV).

The X5 is probably the truest SUV of the whole luxury SUV category, so, if that's what you're looking for, you should definitely check it out.

Of course...before you throw down this type of money(And if you're not dead-set on a SUV), you should look into the new TL. You'll get it cheaper than any of the SUV's, and the new redesign is awesome!

The type-s add's a few more horsepower, but the regular 3.2 should suit you just fine...This is definitely the fastest under-40K car that I have ever driven.

Also, look into this if you are dead-set on a SUV...http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/Taxes/P48468.asp

I think the ML is one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen, no offense. Anyway, the poll is with a chick in mind, although obviously one would still want good SUV qualities.

Won't be getting another BMW any time soon. People who have never had them are seduced by their great rides and style, but rarely realize that they fall apart and the service is horrible, which, in the end, is probably more important than how a car rides.

Anything but the VW. VW is evil. I had to get my engine replaced after 55k miles. The are among the bottom 5 car makers in reliability according to JP Powers. Why anyone would pay almost 50K for a VW is beyond me. You can get a Navigator or Escalade for about the same price.

I think if you are gonna buy an SUV, buy an SUV, not these soccer mom mobiles. Save yourself some cash.

buy american. when i think of SUVs, i think of rugged vehicles with aggressive looks. Explorer, Expedition, Navigator, etc...

unfortunately, none of these are nice on the inside as the ones you listed.

but all the new SUVs are starting to look like minivins/station wagons. the infiniti fx35/fx45 looks somewhat like a wagon, but i really like it. and its fast and handles great as well. the lexus rx330 looks like mr potato head on 4 wheels. :p

out of your choices, i would get the acura mdx (even though its very close to the honda pilot).

    What, no pictures?

Next time put "(no pics)" along with the title.

After hearing the tales of woe about Vee-dubs, I'd avoid them with a passion. Go with what works, either the Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot. Both of them are the same vehicles as the aforementioned Lexus and Acura, yet cost thousands less. Luxo-SUVs make about as much sense as a screen door on a submarine.
