    The 2008 Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year will be announced at a press conference at Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa Bay on Jan. 29....

    That's a gimmick rookie of the year. Soda companies don't decide who's ROY.

    The AP announces the official ROY and Matt Ryan was the winner.

    Yes, he won this award and they announce it at the Superbowl as I recall. IT would be a nice bit of recognition.

    Even if you think it is a gimmick, still show your support and appreciation for his rookie year. It goes a long way into determining which teams have the most active and supportive fan base - it factors in what teams get prime time games on television.
