lets try to get draft picks

    now that we have swift and posibly DS, why no try to trade or expiring contracts along with some guards (wesley, sura, or james) for draft picks a 1 st round will be awesome and a 2nd will be nice

    any toughs for trades thats can give us futures picks

    the only way our expiring contracts are gonna net us draft picks are if we take on contracts from teams looking to cut room. much like we did with glen rice and utah in the 2003 draft.

    I wouldn't be opposed to this as long as we dont take on a horrific contract and its a player that can work into our rotation i'm not opposed to it.

    In reality anything higher than about a #10 is just a crapshoot anyway and next year's draft is not going to go that deep (I think). I'm liking the FA market more as the basis for building a team because you have a real idea about a player after he has 3 years in the league and you can direct your efforts better to areas of need than in the draft. You just can't count on draft picks to help. Of course FA's cost more and we are going to have cap problems for the next 10 years.
