He makes a lot of money but this is his last year. He has got in trouble with the law and has a couple of down years so we might be able to get him for some of one of our bad contracts. It would probaly have to be a three way because portland is loaded with front court players, and our over priced players are mainly in the front court (ie. weatherspoon,moTay, howard) I know the rockets tried to trade for him when barkley was here. While he is pricey he could probaly provide us with 12 points and 7 assists. He is also a career .357 three point shooter, and after the season we could just let him go or resign him for much less.
Who could we possibly move to get within his contract? If it's Mo or Spoon, then I'd do it just to get the expiring contract. But who's going to want MO and Spoon that would have something to offer Portland.
Damon has to be the worst Defender of any other PG in the league. also he is a Shoot first type, JVG will never want him.
I like it. You guys obviously haven't watched the Stoudamire of last year and the year before. He's recently put his drug abuse problem aside, and has been playing very good and controlled basketball. It's an opportunity for us. However, the Blazers would never take MoT. They have vowed not to get players who have been in trouble with the league. So we don't have the contracts to trade for him, unless we send the TE somewhere for a player the Blazers would like to have. Then we can send that player, Juwan Howard, and Pike to the Blazers for Damon Stoudamire. Wait a sec, why don't we offer them that for Shareef AbdurRahim?
