I have been coming to this board for years now, and have seen some good post and some bad ones too. I am not much of a poster myself, but every now and then I add my two cents. Apart of being a fan is thinking we have all the right answers for what the team should or shouldn't do. We fill that we have the authority to tell the owner how he should spend his money. Some of us think the coach should call us before making any decisions. I am not knocking anyone that has his or her own opinions. I often second-guess coaches and players also. However, I just want to take time out to just be a fan! I can't wait to see the Rockets take the court to play the greatest sport there is. I am starving for some Rocket action. I don't care that the jersey sucks, or that some of the people wearing the jerseys sucks. I know we have one of the best coaches in the game. Some of the best players in the league, and a team owner that isn't afraid to spend money on players (unlike another team here in Houston). I am excited about seeing Eddie show his skills. I can't wait to see Rice go in a zone, Cat on the prowl, and Cato..... well let’s keep this post positive . I will go crazy from Steve's first dunk this season to his first ALL-STAR TEAM selection and right into his first NBA playoff series! Rocket fan till I die!!!!
Are you Damon Jones? I mean, you registered as "djones" before he came here, you registered way back in 1999, jones is from Houston... or maybe it's just a coincidence. oh, well. nice post, anyway. I concur 100%
I am a long time rockets fan (like when Rudy played) and have been reading the BBS posts since they began, but this is my first post. I agree with your perspective, I think we fans occasionally get a bit delusional;but being a fan is a fantasy diversion, an escape from the everyday. In our fantasy we can set the lineup, we can tell the owner who to trade and who to acquire. That's the fun of it! Harmless fun! I doubt that the Rockets read these posts for information on which to base their major decisions! Anyway, I think you are right that sometimes we get carried away and lose perspective. Thanks for reminding us.
I cant wait either for the season to get started. The Rockets are going suprise alot of people with their youth and athletic abbillity. NOT I .. That cant be Damon because shoot arounds are at 6:00. wellcome aboard solid
No, I'm not Damon, but would love to be in his shoes right now!!! I also agree with you Solid. It is all harmless fun. That is why I do all the things I want with the team.....on NBA Live on my PC.
Ahhh, a feel good thread. I just got my League Pass yesterday(missed the $20 off though) and I'm ready for some Rockets Ball baby!!!
