alright, I'm definitly kidding....but the kid showed some guts out there today.

You gotta give Jimy some credit, being able to withstand his own temptation and not let Dotel or Wagner touch the ball. On top of that, Stone's gotta come away from this with loads of confidence. Any other situation he will be in down the stretch won't have half as much pressure as he had to face today.

This will help us in the pennant drive, and Stone in his career. See how hard it is to close a game...of course, its not worth $9 million.

I'd say Rivera is worth every penny of $9M, with his ability to go 2 innings & his unbelievable playoff success (last year notwithstanding). No other closer is, imho, and it's the most overpaid position in baseball.

Wags & Dotel needed a day off, it should pay dividends this weekend against the Reds. Kudos to Jimy for sticking to his pre-game plan.

Frankly, Wade should be pissed at himself for how he pitched to Brown in the 8th.

I'm sure he is...but I also hope he is happy with the rest of his performance today. He pitched an excellent game, and a long one on a day when he knew Jimy was going to try to rest most of the bullpen. Our relief arms really needed that break.

No doubt about that, Raven. They needed 7+ from Wade today & he responded big time.

Did anyone get to watch the game on ESPN? I saw the first 5 innings while at physical therapy & the rest at home. Jeff Brantley (unlike his former Nasty Boy cohort Dibble) is a darn good color guy, very intelligent & insightful.

yeah, brantley has gotten much better then when he stumbled in his first few games at the beggining of the year.

Of course, he's best at analyzing a pitcher and how he thinks. Don't know how helpful he'd be if the teams were actually hitting though...
