If we don't convince anyone to come here in the next couple weeks is Melo someone we should look into for a midseason trade? Looks like Denver will be looking to trade him if he doesn't resign and for some reason I like the sound of a line up of: AB/KM/Melo/Scola/Yao over AB/KM/Ariza/Bosh/Yao I'm no contract guru so I'm not sure exactly what it would take in a trade but i'm sure there is some package we could put together that wouldn't gut the team too bad seeing as how it appears Melo WANTS to leave... So my question is which forward duo do you like better for the Rockets? Melo/Scola or Ariza/Bosh And please spare me the "this will never happen bs", its a hypothetical question...
should have indluded anthony in the title, otherwise it doesnt seem any different from all of the other "what if we dont get him" threads... but where did u get melo wants out? He's been pushing for an extension because he says he's not about free agency and all the hype.... the nuggets only suggested trading him if he doesnt sign it this summer, which seems pretty likely.
Its been on the bottom line this morning that Denver is looking at trading Carmelo before the end of next season so they don't go through what Cleveland is going through. They brought up a 3 year extension that's on the table that he still hasn't accepted so they are assuming he has no interest in staying...
Trade for him. Max him out if Denver won't. He's worth it. We're a serious team that can give him the support he needs. If he bolts to a team like the Knicks next year that's just r****ded of him.
I'd rather have Melo than Bosh. I don't think the Rockets should wait until mid season, they should be in talks with Denver ASAP. The only caveat is that a trade for Melo would probably take most of our assets, which personally I would be okay with.
Shouldn't we wait til midseason before discussing possible mid-season moves? I mean, is there really so much to talk about between now and the season, that we need to start thinking about mid-season contingencies? There's only about 3245634 different possibilities between now and season opener that would affect how the Rockets should act during the trade deadline.
you guys act like Denver isnt going to want to keep their franchise player at all. If Melo wants to be in Denver he is going to be the rest of his prime playing career. No way Denver trades melo unless a LeBron is offered or Melo pulls a stunt like Arenas
of course Denver wants to keep him. That's not really of question. The point is IF carmelo doesn't want to sign an extension, Denver might have no choice but to trade him or else get screwed like cleveland, like someone mentioned above. In that case they will certainly be looking for a trade, and they might have to settle for less than "a lebron"
The only reason I said mid season was because I figured that Denver is going to give Melo all the time they have to give him to make a decision before trading him. Of course they don't WANT to trade him, but like the report said... The 3 year 65 million dollar offer is on the table and he hasn't seemed all too interested in signing it...it was just a thought
