(just saw my first Match Game on Game Show Network a few weeks ago. i'm hooked.) Get ready to match the stars on the star-studded celebrity Match Game '76. 1. The police commissioner said, "I think Batman and Robin are ___________." 2. The senator's new secretary said, "I'm not sure what the senator expects me to do. But when I walked in his office, he was wearing ________." 3. I think Donald the undertaker must have been a magician in a past life. Instead of burying the bodies, he _________s them. Audience Match: Admiral ________ Super Match: ________ cup If you haven't seen the Match game, there are two contestants and 6 celebrities. The hosts asks questions like those above, the celebs write down an answer, then the contests try to match the celebs answers. After two (or 3) rounds, the winning contestant moves on to the Big Money match. The Big Money match starts off with an audience match where a studio audience is polled and the contestant tries to guess the top three responses (this part was spun off into Family Feud.) The contest gets to aks 3 celebs for help with the audience match. The contestant wins $$ depending on whether his answer was the 1st ($500), 2nd ($250) or 3rd ($100) most popular audience response. Then the contestant plays for 10 times that amount and gets to pick one celebrity to match for the Super Match. If he matches the celeb he picked, he wins 10 times his audience match total.
1. gay 2. stirrups 3. suspends Halze (sp?) ( i know that was yours) D (as in bra size)...hehe...no seriously, "coffee"
You have just now seen it?? been watching them since '74 Coolest game show ever.. ok here we go.... 1)Light in the loafers. 2)A leather dog collar. 3)Saws them in half. Can't come up with a good one for Admiral....hmmm I keep thinking Nimitz Super Match : Teacup ?? Damn..I'm much better at Millionaire!! ------------------ Give It To Moochie! oh damn...me and HP are on the same wavelength!! SCARY!!! ------------------ Give It To Moochie! Sergeant at Arms of the Moochie Norris fan-club
"gay" gets you 3 matches. Of course, no one would have said "gay" in 1976, they would have said ______. There's a couple of other good answers for this one. "stirrups" gets no matches. But its funnier than the 'right' answer that gets you 4 matches "suspends" is a terrible answer. There's one answer that gets 4 matches, another for 2. "Halsey" is the $100 answer. I'm willing to bet that no one on this board can come up with the $500 "Admiral ________" answer unless you've seen this episode. (or the web page about it). "coffee" is of couse the obvious answer, but a old Phillipino (sp?) woman was playing with Richard Dawson. So Richard correctly guesses that the old woman would say 'tea'. So Richard writes 'tea' and the old lady wins $5000.
"saws in 1/2" gets you 2 matches. Pretty gruesome, though. There's another answer for 4 matches. "dog collar" is even better than stirrups IMO still no matches though Go 2K! You matched with the handsome and witty Richard Dawson!
come on! suspends and elevates must both match! Elevates as an opposite to bury is the best. No? how 'bout bad grammar...but "vanishes" "hides" how do you disappear someone. 2. I guess, when in doubt, say "a dress". the better one is "wig" for our fore fathers and a naive secretary. Admiral must be some type of advertisement.
Dawson always was one of my favorites on that show...him and Charles Nelson Reiley ------------------ Give It To Moochie! Sergeant at Arms of the Moochie Norris fan-club
"disappears" is the 4 match answer. The celebs wrote "disappears" or "vanishes". Still no matches for #2. "admiral appliance" - getting warmer
Admiral Refrigerator? Admiral Gas Range? ------------------ Houston Sports Board The Anti-Bud Adams Page
Admiral Refrigerator? Admiral Gas Range? getting cooler. Still no matches for #2: The senator's new secretary said, "I'm not sure what the senator expects me to do. But when I walked in his office, he was wearing ________." Come on. That's an easy one. The obvious answer is..... [This message has been edited by jamcracker (edited December 19, 2000).]
2) Bra and Panties??? still nothing for Admiral.... ------------------ Give It To Moochie! Sergeant at Arms of the Moochie Norris fan-club
Richard Dawson gave the missing $500 Admiral ____ answer. Gene Rayburn (the Match Game host) thought Richard's answer was crazy, so Gene bets Richard $1 on whether Richard's answer shows up. Instead of having a computerized score board, the Match Game actually had a man named Earl inside a box revealing the answers. Check this exchange between Gene Rayburn, Richard Dawson, and Earl. Gene: "Earl are you in there?" Earl: "I'm right here." Richard: "Its worth 50 cents to me, Earl." Gene: "Earl, If it comes out Admiral _____ (RD's answer), you're in a heap of trouble. *laughter* I can stall a little if you wanna change it. *laughter* Allright Earl - slide it." *Richard's answer is revealed to wild applause* Gene: "Earl, you're fired! Pick up your hammer and your saw and your nails and get outta here Earl." Richard: "Earl, God Bless You my boy" [This message has been edited by jamcracker (edited December 19, 2000).]
toga, wig, dress, bra and panties are all good answers, but all 5 of the celebs match with the same answer. Still haven't seen it. [This message has been edited by jamcracker (edited December 19, 2000).]
