Yeah, all you Mobley apologist dweebs can get up now... I said it. [IMG]

I've always said that if Mobley could ever get his FG% up, he would be a very good player. I've noticed his shooting has been improving over the past few games and he is a legitimate 2nd threat when Francis is double teamed. I actually feel "safe" with the guy shooting now as opposed to earlier in the season where he was jacking up bizarre low-percentage shots thinking he was the next Jordan.

The reason I want to keep this guy is the following. We have a superstar PG, Mobley can be a star SG who can also play PG, we have Shandon who interchanges between the 3 and the 2. If we keep Mobley, we may be able to get a very good athlete with our draft pick. A team like this provides incredible flexibility in lineups for Rudy. Matchups would also be easier for Rudy with this lineup and also if we could add more bulk to our front court. If we could somehow land a SOLID power forward (not that Kenny Thomas will never be one), we'd be close to competing and having a chance to go somewhere in the playoffs.

I'm still that guy you optimists love to hate. I want the best of all worlds... I want the lottery this year and the championships next year.

But of course, now that I've said this watch Rudy trade Mobley for a Big Mac or something... [IMG] The next 22 days should be interesting with all these rumors floating about...

If we want to trade Mobley, this is the best time to do it. We can take full advantage of his rising stock. On the other hand, I like how Mobley and Francis have develop a frienship and would never want to break that up. Francis is good with Cat, Cat is good with Cato and Rogers, and Shandon is there for defense. I would not want to break up this nucleus.

If we trade Mobley, then count on Francis being out of here in 3 years. Wonderful plan.

I agree with you. Francis will be an All-World type of player and he could carry Mobley to a higher level. I would rather keep Francis-Mobley & Anderson. Even if the three of them only divided time at the guard positions it would still be an average of 32 minutes/game/player (even though Francis will undoubtedly get 35-40), however I love the line up of of Anderson at the 3 for stretches of the game.
In addition Mobley is such a spark off the bench, and as best I can tell he doesn't mind coming off the bench. He legitamely could become one of the premier 6th men in the league.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Francis has a 4 year contract with the club holding the right of first refusal on any contract after that.

    Behad,

I don't know if it's true. But if it's true, Francis will still leave eventually, not because Cuttino isn't around, but because Steve feels the ballclub is no longer keeping him happy.

    Star attitude, you know! [IMG]

My hope is these brothers stay here for a longer time. I see a great future of Stevie-Cat combo. [IMG]
