Why can not we build our team around three stars instead of only two:
    Yao, SF and Cat?

If Cat can adjust to the new style, we will be in a very good shape.

Actually I really hope we can have 3 stars. The problem is that Cat should adjust. In his eyes, the other ROX players are nothing except SF. He is not a team player.

You say this like everywhere you go, but you never provide any reason. Well, the fact that Mobe's shots since the allstar break are about 14.5 right now, while Ming's are about 13, show you that change is happening. Now, knowing how you think, you are gonna say that Ming should be shooting more than Mobley right now. Well, considering that Mobley plays 42.85 minutes a night since the break while Ming plays 34.1, shows you exactly why Mobley averages more shots than Ming, he plays about 8 more minutes than him. 1.5 shots in 8 minutes. OMG, he's a black hole. As Yao gets more experienced and more playint time, you will see a change. If Mobley was averaging less shots right now, those shots would be going to horrible shooters like Posey. This team is on their way up to the top of the mountain, but before you can get there, you have to climb up the mountain side. Climbing mountains is a struggle. If you guys aren't willing to face the struggles with this team, then I don't see why you should enjoy the view from the top.

To me, the rox are already made up of 3 stars.

    Wink, Cat, and Dynasty.

Though, it takes more than 3 to make a team. The rocks have alot of talent on their team. Hope they can become consistent offensively/defensively

While I am a huge fan of Yao, I have to disagree with your calculation. You can't just straight multiply a player's ability by the minutes he plays. Sure, Yao can deliver such an efficent performance in 34 minutes, but can he carry that efficency to a longer game? Maybe he can, maybe he can not, give or take the benefit of the doubt

oh uh, I have a bad feeling about my opinion. Don't thow the flames at me, pleaseeee

No, you actaully make a very good point. It's like that stat "Per 48 Minutes." There are a lot of scrubs in the league who's "Per 48 Minutes" numbers compare very favorably with other All-Stars in the NBA.

Did you know that "Per 48 Mintues" Kelvin Cato (not saying he's a scrub) is one of the best rebounders in basketball -- I'm talking Ben Wallace, KG, Tim Duncan level? But how come given more minutes as a starting center last season this wasn't the case? Some guys can't be counted on to play well for a long period of time.

With this said, I think Yao's numbers would be even more impressive given close to 40 mins on avg. :D

Yao would be dead if he averaged those minutes.

LOL true. Actually if he played 40+ minutes his stats/48 minutes would probly fall because he'd be tired and be less efficient with more minutes.

Not 40+ minutes, but close to 40 minutes. I said close to 40 b/c I believe the poster who calculated suggested Yao play 39 minutes, right?

You guys don't think Yao could play close to that given improved strength and conditioning?
