With all the musicians here I think we should get together and jam. There are rockers and blues players here as well as singers. Hell why don't we get together and come up with something to present to the Rockets, maybe we can replace those damn drummers!
The real questions is "Where?" I do have a rehearsal studio in downtown that we could use, but it's pretty grim (one light bulb - a black ceiling - rats and roachs). The best bet would probably be an open mic night, though it might be hard getting everyone on stage at once. The open mic night at Instant Karma used to be the best one in town, but we could always try the one at Danelectro's. Maybe someone else has ideas. Depending on the skills of the other players, I can play bass or guitar. Just don't ask me to solo - I am a natural accompanist type person.
Man, awesome idea. I could play guitar or viola or baritone or something. Hell, I'll bang a tambourine. No idea on a spot. I would say UH but I'm not in the music school
I play alittle bass, but I'm sure Jeff would be a MUCH better choice. or even Drew..unless we are playin old skool metal, in which caseI may be the best choice.
i can play guitar, bass, piano, violin...have all the equipment I also have my new baby. A shiny MINIMOOG...lets jam
Keyboard player here... standard 101-key US layout QWERTY style is my specialty. Prefer Microsoft ergonomic type. Let's hook up.
Sounds like the one on McKinney and Dowling perhaps? Or maybe the one on Sterrett? At any rate, count me in! An open mic night may be more practical since they usually have a PA and drumset already set up. I thought Instant Karma was closed. Dan Electro's used to have one every Thursday night. That would be a blast.
I'm awesome on the triangle. Someone has to fly me down to Houston, though. But trust me, it's worth it.
UTweezer, i checked out your mp3.com page. good stuff! throw up a post if you guys ever play somewhere in austin. Brian
