I think the potential dealbreaker for many of these free agents(mainly Bosh), if they end up not coming to houston, will be the fact that they're basically committing themselves to winning a championship, but at a huge risk. Houston should be an attractive place(I don't see why not) for many of these big names. However, if the reason you sign with Houston is to be paired up with a 7'6 allstar center and he never sees the floor during the playoffs, there's no point. I mean, if I were one of these guys, I would think long and hard at what I am getting into. I can also see other teams going "You're hoping Yao stays healthy? Good luck with that." Sad I know, but its the truth.

while this is true, remember we were still a 42 win team without yao last year.

    morey can get pieces together.

our core right now is pretty damn good.

plus, with iggy's track record on this type of surgery, i have to say outlook is good.

Say what you will but the bottom line is Yao is not playing for China for the first time in his life. Thus, less stress on the foot. This is a big year for Yao to prove he can last the season....Wheres the support people?..

But Yao is still a teammate who will get you hooked up with endorsements. At the end of the day, it is all about the money for most people.

Without Yao no one would want to come here so what is your point?

if its all about the money, then wouldnt the russian billionaire's offer sound the most enticing? He's offering them the world.

no matter how rich russian billionaire is, all he can give is the max contract, no difference from other teams. advertisment comes from other companies, not from that russian billionaire.

OP is right at half of whole bosh issue. the other half is yao is also the reasom if bosh decides to come to houston.
