Let's face it: this team isn't that good even with a healthy Yao.

We simply don't have the talent and athleticism to match up with the other elite teams. Although we can beat any team on any given night, even with a healthy Kevin Martin, Aaron Brooks, Yao Ming, and Scola, this is not a 45+win team.

EVERY nba team fan tends to overlook the bad and hype up the good.

I'm just keeping it real. Here are my thoughts on who we should keep (which may be surprising)

Brooks: trade him while his stock is high (for Chris Paul)
Scola: trade him if you can, else I guess we should sign him (I think the bulk of the scoring should come from the guards with the bigs putting back misses)
Hayes: let him go (too short, though would be a good backup PF if we keep him it's a luxury)
Taylor: keep him (only to trade him later when his stock gets high)
Ariza: keep him (do we have a choice?)
Lowry: keep him (good enough backup pg)
Hill: keep (a center piece for the future)
Bud: keep him (trade him next year when his stock gets high)
Martin: keep (but we need another athletic wing)
    Battier: keep

Conclusion, yes to Chris Paul or David Lee or Amare
no to Marcus Camby, Chris Bosh, Sergio Lulz, remaining Rockets benchwarmers

You want a ballhog in Chris Paul. Of course he puts up 12 assists a game but he doesn't fit out system of give and go and motion offense. What he does is dribble dribble dribble run pick and roll and dribble some more and pass the ball with 4 seconds left in the shot clock.

Thats not a bad thing. He is great defensively. This just means that we have a player that can create in the last minutes of the 4th quarter when the defense really starts to clamp down.

What are you talking about? This team with a healthy Yao is equal to a 50+ win team. However it still won't be a championship contender.

How exactly do you expect to trade AB for Paul? New Orleans has two very legit point guards right now, why would they get rid of their franchise player for another one (who while very talented is not in the same league as CP)?

And why would you not want Camby if he did want to sign with Houston? He would essentially be a Mutombo clone, and would be perfect coming off the bench for significant minutes to help keep Yao fresh.

Amare does not want to be in Houston apparently, why would we want him here? He's nothing but a very talented, but completely self-absorbed egomaniac who would ruin the chemistry that has defined this team.

When did "this" team play with Yao?

The last time I checked, before Yao went down he played with a broken down T-Mac, chucker Ron Artest, 1st year starter Brooks/Rafer, midseason acquisition Lowry, and Von no-head Wafer.

THAT team was 50+ wins and took the champions to 7 games.

No one knows what Yao and THIS team can do.

Are you serious? You forgot the last time we had Yao, we had no 2? Bruh we had Ron Artest taking low percentage shots, even with Yao having great nights.

Tell me, who are these "athletic" teams that are making you lose sleep?

The hilarious thing is that this is a 45+ win team even without Yao. lol

    What's our record buddy?

We were on pace for 45 wins without Yao, T-Mac, Jordan Hill, Kevin Martin (plus Carl Landry).

You're saying that by adding K-mart, Yao, Jordan Hill, Kevin Martin and a good draft pick, we somehow will cease to be a 45-win team. Nevermind that we will have the MLE to spend as well. Nevermind that Kevin Martin and Jordan Hill haven't been through training camp.

Nevermind that our starting C will become our backup C. Nevermind that Chase Budinger and Jordan Hill are rookies.

Nevermind that we excellent assets to acquire a star FA (expiring contracts + multiple draft picks + young players).

The funniets part was suggesting the Hornets would be dumb enough to trade CP3 for Brooks.

yer That was defunately the funniust part of the post

Why not? I don't agree with the OP but you have to consider that the Hornets could possibly be shopping CP3 for several reasons.

    1. They may go bankrupt or lose alot of $$. Their season ticket sales are not that great.
    2. Emergence of Darren Collison and Marcus Thorton. They can afford to lose CP3 now that they have Collison, who has proven that he can efficiently run the point. He is a BETTER defender than CP3 and he is on a rookie contract.
    3. Aaron Brooks isn't bad

Well done, you should get a job as an internet spell checker, i am sure everyone gives a damn...

I am sure Hornets would trade the best point guard in the league for a good point guard, it makes perfect sense!

Don't forget that trading your franchise players is the key to making money!
