As much as I have been critical about Tmac, I have not given up my hope on him. This is the team we have at our hand. They may not be the most talented team in the whole NBA, still they could be good enough to compete against any team in this league. It may have been a disappointed performance for the team so far for many of us who had such a high expectation at the beginning of the season, but I do see some positive signs. The rookies have been helpful, the verterans are doing their things and Yao is really stepping up when needed. Maybe SF,MJ, and even BW have been a bit disappointing, they don't make that much of difference anyway. So far every pieces are there except Tmac. Do not get me wrong. I do not think we play better without Tmac even at the current way plays. I just beleive he can get this team a lot better when he truely fits in the system. He is so talented. It maybe hard for a guy like Tmac with so much talent and so much individual success to change the way he plays for so many seasons. I am not saying he should yield to Yao and become a role player, not at all. I want both of them doing what they can do best within the system to help the team the most. They can both be the central parts of the offense in different ways, different moments. But at any moment they need to find the best way. And I beleive they can find it. Tmac himself should realize this is his best shot for his career team success. He can not let it slip away. And he is the only one can truly intergate the team offense. I do not even seriously think about any trade at this time. Reed,Kidd whoever. We all can dream. But the reality is, if Tmac can truly get it going, we have chance against any team. If not, we are done for this season.
Agree, it's not a good time to make a big trade. I don't think trading TMAC for another $20M star would dramatically improve Rockets right now. Let's see how far Rockets can go in this season. If Rockets had a big vacation again, Morey would plenty of time to rebuild this team.
I just don't know if he can do it,right now it doesn't look good. My hopes were higher at the beginning of the season when he was playing effortlessly after such a long time.
Based on TMac's talent, I think he can do it if he believes "when there's a will, there's a way". If he can't up to the end of this season, I,m sure Rox Management would find somebody to replace him.
He should take a lesson from David Robinson and move aside to let Yao lead, and the team will fly. DD
The guy was legitimately hurt and then got the flu for one game. This board acts like he pulled an 07 Bonzi or something And DD is right...from a leadership perspective, this needs to be Yao's team. TMac can still play well but he really isn't a leader at all.
Alot of people think his not "legitimately hurt" Which is quite ridiculous if you ask me. I don't think any of the fans here have a right to question if his "legitimately" hurt.
I had the same injury and it took me 3 weeks to feel normal. That's without the bone bruise and the tendinitis as well. We're gonna be just fine. I really think we are heading in the right direction and TMac being out for that length of time was great for the development and confidence of our other players. I'm excited...and I guess that stops me from starting Trade TMac threads...I think we are about to roll...and I think that he's gonna be a part of the reason why. The supporting cast is stepping up
Yup I've come to realize that Tracy is the key, but I sure would like to upgrade the point. Mike Bibby would look great in Rockets Red.
"It's on me" Tmac controlled the ball all last year, it is why the team struggled when he was out and was able to play ok when Yao was out. Tmac is a great player, but not a leader.....let Yao be the gun and Tmac be the bullet.. DD
Looking the wrong place, I think it is the supporting cast. That has been the "real" issue all along with the TMac-Yao duo. Do the Rockets finally have the right role players? I don't think so, but we will see.
i'm gonna go ahead and face the fact that it's up to yao how far we go. mac doesn't have the fire. he only has good and bad shooting nights.
Mclady still took more shots... per game.... last year and when he shot like his customary 33% every other game... it made it hard to win last year...
Can you...point to...specific stats...to back up your claims... Thank you... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
Yao wasn't mature enough last year as a leader. This year he is much improved. T-Mac has been the #1 for his teams for many years, and it has proven that he can only get you that far. With his injuries, his health conditions, the future on him is very unlikely to get better. TOF, wake up.
It's not only on T-Mac. It's not only on Yao. It's on the team. The TEAM. It takes 9 or 10 people and the coach to get out of the first round / win the championship. And at the end of the day, we need BOTH Yao AND T-Mac to step up. That's frankly, the only way we will ever get out of the first round and beyond. This is not the East the Rockets are playing in.
