Hey Clutch: How about opening up some pre-JVG threads from this forum. What were the topics? Maybe--- 1-Will we ever make the playoffs? 2-That Stevie Franchise is some kind of fancy dribbler. Imput anyone? 3-Why doesn't anyone ever come to a Rocket game anymore? 4-If we could just shoot 40 per cent of any type of shot. 5-Defense, we don't need no stinking Defense. 6-A winning season isn't that big a deal. 7-We'll always have our two championships. 8-Can the Rockets beat the Comets? 9-The Houston Rocket's double-double--a new type of tasty mixed drink. 10-Houston Rockets say--NBA send us your old, tired, washed up has beens. They can start for us. Fellow Rocket fans, so you want to dump JVG. Be careful of what you wish for.
JVG is a winner he has proven that. The problem with JVG is that his basketball is boring to watch. NBA basketball is entertainment and JVG basketball is like watching paint dry. I wanna win but JVG would be happy if every game ended 1 to 2 in favor of the Rockets and I don't know if I can take another season of it. I also think that JVG's style of coaching, after a couple seasons, leads a team in a downward direction as far as the future is concerned. This season was the apex.
that would be interesting to see. i was thinking this thread was going to go "Lest we forget....Yao played like a scared girl and got manhandled. And tmac pulled a houdini"

Just think how many regular season games we could win before bowing out in the first if we had Dirk Chris Webber and Garnet on our team too!!!
AWESOME post Tinny ! And he had Hakeem on his team.....how did Rudy do in his first few years after replacing him? DD
That must be a lifetime achievement for the Greatest Coach in the History of NBA. I dont think there is one coach that can pass Mr. JVG's 500 mark in playoff winnings.
Tinman: Your coinclusions are irrelevant. How about using more recent stats--the four years before JVG came to Houston. 02-03 43-39 01-02 28-54 00-01 45-37 99-00 34-48 If my two dollar calculator is correct during the four years prior to JVG's arrival the Rox won 150 games and lost 178. We went to ZERO post season games. Our winning per centage was a staggering .457. We could not even win half of our games. Do you really want to risk going back to that? Winning more than one half of our games and going to the playoffs is far better than being known as a loser franchise. Wouldn't you agree.
